Atrium 45 crackle/popping

Just installed the Atrium 45's in backyard. They sounded great but after a few hours of play i began to notice crackling and popping in both speakers - especially around the hi-tones. I am running them with a Pioneer vsx-817. I had the speakers playing relatively quiet - seems weird that they would be blown/change their sound. Any troubleshooting tips?

    Either try using a different pair of speakers temporarily or try the speakers indoors on a different receiver. This will tell you if the problem is in the speakers themselves or "upstream" from the electronics powering them.
