You might look into a Shunyata Guardian 4, which is at the top of your price range. Definetly one of the greatest improvements to my main demo system.Tschüss

I use PS Audio Quintet power conditioner. I stick my amp in there and it doesn't restrict any dynamics.

I'm rocking this one from costco. Looks like the one that Monster cable sells without the Monster name and crazy price attached.

The Shunyata Olkie mentions is the best I have used, I take it over PS audio I have and the Monster. I ran a 30 amp line to the outlet and then the Shunyata, works well for me.

If you live in a area with a lot of lightning or power surges something like this will do the trick...

I perfer Panamax. They do a great job and don't limit the current for higher powered amps. I use the 5500 but I do home theater.Dan

Panamax makes great stuff.

I think you may be better off with a dedicated line than a stabilizer.

Since my area gets a lot of mini brown outs, I use the Belkin Pure AV Hybrid UPS for the main rig and the Home Theater UPS for my PC music server and accessories."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. Hi, I'm looking for something such as a surge protector or power conditioner. I don't want something too fancy, but I just don't think I trust my new apartment's power that much. I don't want to implode when the neighbor starts the dishwasher and microwave together. I also am not familiar with the power company or brownout rate in this area.

Not drawing a whole lot of power. I have FiOS too, not sure how to protect that as a backdoor to lightning strike - but I'm more worried just about brownouts and the like - or rapid blackout/restore/blackout/restore.
Any recommendations? Not a huge budget.... -

I don't have experience with anything cheaper. Be advised that a cheaper one MIGHT add noise into the rig."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche -
APC's C-series are great buys. I got a C-5 for $49 open-box and am incredibly happy.
As for sonic improvements, I don't think there are any other than the security of knowing my gear is not only protected but insured. All the EMI/RFI whatever "conditioning" occurs between 100khz to 1Mhz so... far outside the realm of audibility. Many power conditioners have actually increased measured distortion in low frequency material, though it's beyond my ken to understand. With this in mind, the greatest sonic gain to hope for is to do no harm, an ethos to which APC products definitely adhere.
OTOH I had a terrible ground loop hum in my last apartment and the APC neutralized it completely. I also had some video distortions that have been effectively suppressed to the point of invisibility. Thumbs up from me.Currently listening to:
