    Agreed. Kind of scary it was even that close,and a revisit after select judges are in place could turn the tide.

    You know who else would be happy with todays ruling? Jesus. Yes Jesus, the Prince of Peace, were he alive to today would be packing heat.

    It always amazes me how the folks that are the biggest gun nuts (and usually NRA members) also claim to be such devout christians. I own 3 guns myself, but I have always failed to see the connection between Jesus and guns. Just an observation.

    Seriously? You're telling me you've never known someone who is a card carrying NRA member that also claims to be a devout christian? Well up here in Alaska, those kind of folks are a dime a dozen. There are 6 of them at my place of business alone. So yes, my observation was not a generalization and is backed up by plenty of data.

    Probably when you essentially said peace and gun ownership are somehow at odds with one another. What does someone being a Christian have ANYTHING to do with owning a gun or being an NRA member?

    I don't think the margin really matters. I think the message has been sent to our politicians that protection of our personal freedoms is a hot-issue, and that "the people" are the primary first-responders to any crisis or threat. It's not really a total "gun" issue.

    If we want to protect society, there are far more productive ways to allocate the multi-millions of dollars spent on the "gun" debate. Making swimming pools and cars safer will save more children's lives. Keeping criminals in jail will better protect the elderly.

    Hypocritical nut job? Thats being a little harsh on yourself. But yes, there does seem to be some level of hypocrisy in being a follower of jesus, who said to turn the other cheek and to love your enemies and to be so crazy about guns. I dont understand the failure to at least recognize this conflict.
