Blown Speakers

Hey I have a pair of RTi10s and the midrange driver blew from being turned up too loud i think. Then the other day I pulled my computer forward and it yanked out the audio cord in the back leading to my receiver while music was playing, and when I plugged it back in both my tweeters gave me no sound

So my question is are the tweeters blown or could it be something else? and does warranty cover this or was it my fault and I have to buy new parts?

if you played it too loud and the midranges blew, chances are you blew the tweeters before that... Abuse is not covered by warranty so the repair is in your wallet...

i blew ONE midrange probably about 6-7 months ago and i have just been using the one speaker in my setup until recently when i replaced the midrange and started using them both again. now my tweeters both stopped working

The midrange blew after a party when i had them hooked up to a 500 wpc amp and the tweeters just stopped working a few days ago hooked up to a kenwood 220wpc amp

are my tweeters blown or could there be something else preventing them from playing?

Is the Kenwood an amp or an AVR? At what volume level did you have it at?

party level volume.. what does that tell you Jesse? 1 or 2 o'clock on the volume knob most likely.

jstrang, first off welcome to club Polk... if you push any speaker beyond it's limits it will blow.. either a tweeter, mid range or woofer, depending on it's design.

if you like to play your speaker loud for parties. consider buying a cheap azz pair of dance club type speakers..
