Wonder if they provide a sewing kit instead of a spare tire?

You'll need a sewing kit if someone keys it.

This is a car that you'll need a lot of duct tape to fix.

Looks like somebody over at BMW had a pair of Vandersteen and thought, "hey, why don't we drape our cars in fabric!"

It's a cool desing. Alot of questions I have. I'd like to see it at the next auto show.

I got an open mine. It's kind a cool. You could change the color is 2 hours yourself.

    Neato.

I'd love to know what you guys think the plastic shell of a modern car does in a crash (hint : nothing).
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I don't think that sheetmetal contributes much to the crash worthiness of a car, either. Granted, more then plastic, but still not much.

Anything but inovative. The BMW insignia is that of an aircraft prop in motion; it harkens back to their aircraft building days that ended with the fall of the Third Reich.

In those days aircraft were covered in fabric. Think of the Piper Cub, the Taylorcraft and the Beechcraft Stagerwing. In fact, virtually all the aircraft from the Golden Age of Aviation were fabric covered. And no, they do not flap in the wind; even at 150 knots.

You would definitely want to keep that car garaged. Fabric and sunlight don't mix that well.

Sure, why not? If it's an open mine like a strip mine, might be fun. If it's a "conventional" mine and has railroad tracks, I might get my hat and whip and play Indiana Jones.

    Wanna come along?

Wow, that's pretty awesome. I haven't decided how practical it really is, but it is an awesome idea with a lot of cool possibilities.

I was thinking the same thing as dcmeigs. Take a look at any ultralight plane. They're all just simple structures wrapped in a fabric. Kind of cool but durability, reliability and maintenance are hard obstacles to overcome.
