I was so excited when I found a new, unopened HD-A2 at my local Walmart. I knew that I was getting and HD TV and was going to by an up converting DVD player anyway so when I saw this for $74.99. Well I finally got my TV and hooked up the A2. The picture was great for all of 10 minutes and then it froze.
I cleaned the disk, cycled the machine, tried other DVDs but always the machine says “no disk” when a DVD is loaded. I put in a CD-R and it recognized it right away. I then downloaded the latest firmware which loaded fine, but still “no disk” with DVDs. I tried compressed air but no luck. Today I called Toshiba and they said they would exchange it for and A3, but I have to pay shipping to Lebanon, TN.
:(
Should I spend the extra money and get a replacement A3 (probably a refurb), or should I just return it to Walmart and get my money back?
