Wow, I have to say that the new installment of the Indiana Jones series was soooooo retarted! I love the original three movies, but this one just goes to show that Lucas and Spielburg (sp?) are running out of any ideas that are not sci-fi based! Sorry George this isn't Star Wars and no Steven this isn't E.T. Its called Indiana FREAKIN Jones! No sci-fi needed......:mad::mad:

It's just a movie. Not the end of the world or anything...get over it.

I loved it. Given the 20 year span between this one and the last one, it made sense for them to shift from the 30s adventure serials to the 50s red scare/alien genre. Can't wait until I can watch it again at home!

haha.....niiiiice one! I know it is, but i was just disappointed! :(

As for the switch to the red scare and alien thing, i liked the potential for the movie with that switch, but when they actually put in aliens into it, thats when they lost me! They had me up untill the end! hmmmm :(

I went into the movie with a very open mind. I also like a bunch of movies that many do not and I can safely say that I did not like the new Indiana Jones except for the technical aspects. (Vis FX and sound design)

Excellent insight. I thought the new movie was good, but I wish they would have explored the Alien stuff a bit more.

The Alien theme was really the an entirely new topic that indy never explored.

I saw this today and am not sure what to think. The pacing was slow, actually checked my watch twice. The action sequences were completely unsuspensful, the alien storyline did not fit the Indy theme of the previous films and Ford was just plain boring on screen. I guess I do know what to think, by far, the worst of all 4 films. I didn't think Temple of Doom could be outdone, but it has.

I cannot believe after this long we get such a crapfest of a film, shame on Lucas and Spielberg.

Well, I had a great time taking my boys to see it. Anyone that goes to an action movie expecting to be moved needs to reevaluate a whole lot of things.

The theater was overflowing and and there was an actual applause at the end...the first time I had heard that at a theater in over 20 years.

I liked it alot, don't get what all the bitching is about. It's not like the Indy films have never explored anything with a supernatural overtone before...uh, Ark of the Covenant anyone???

I was going to write up a review of this movie, but it looks like after seeing it that it wouldn't be worth my time. Lame acting, cheesy humor, weird **** story line for an Indy movie and the absolute most unbelievable [and cheesy] ways for Jones to get out of sticky situations.

I would not recommend this movie for any Indiana Jones fan. I'd barely recommend it to those who know nothing about the three prior movies. To me, they should have let the saga go in good standing like the series M*A*S*H. This movie brought the persona of Jones down and personally I will not go see the next one. Yes, this one was that bad.

20 years and then this? Pffft.

I didnt care for it that much either. The story was a little too convoluted and I thought the alien theme was just out of place in Indiana Jones. Didnt like the Russian chick and the new kid was fairly annoying to watch too. He looks like a chick.

It didnt suck and its worth watching but it doesnt live up to Raiders and Crusade but is better than Temple. Ill probably buy it once it hits the 4 for $20 bin at Blockbusters.

Yeah, Shia Labeouf reminds me of Ralph Machio in the Karate kid.... ChEEzy. The movie was entertaining, but not nearly as good as the originals, and i agree, Kate Blanchett as a Russian bad-azz was horrible.

I liked it too. It did exactly what you would expect an Indiana Jones movie should do once the setting moved to the 50s. Had a blast watching it again at home last night! And the sound? OH LORDY! One of the better surround tracks I've heard recently. The DVD release sounds awful and muted, presumably because they did the THX rolloff on the mix before encoding it, but the BD version has some seriously sweet audio.

Great looking and sounding disc, I just finished this on Blu. While it was a bit more enjoyable the second time around, guess I knew what to expect, it's still the weakest in the series. Why does George go for such fake looking special effects? It's so poorly done it distracts from the enjoyment of the film. This has some of the worst and most fake looking CGI I've seen in a very long time and on Blu it's even more prominent then at the theater. I sure hope if there's a #5 Lucas isn't involved, or at least his special effects team.
