Russman. Do you have a compulsion to pick on people or are you just an ****? Your post about me and all those dings is really stupid. I'm 23. So what. I'm sure there are 23 year old guys on here. Ding. I don't think I said I was bigger than all my friends. Ding. I said that about my partners cause I was answering that question that stirred everyone up. I guess it would suit you if I would have said I was with a different guy every night? (I am not.) Ding. I said my ex would stay my ex because that is true, and because in some of those guys answers they seemed to be encouraging my to get away from him. Ding. He has some big old klipsh speakers that he happened to inherit from his father. Ding. I work a lot of hours, so I end up spending a lot of evenings alone to relax. What is wrong with that? Ding. Now for my profile. I should not even explain any of this to you, but I will. I like music. jazz, blues, and rock. Well excuse me! Ding. I like dancing. Did you ever go out dancing? It is fun. Ding. Reading. I like a good mystery novel. Ding. Football. Watch the big game tonight. When they show the people in the stands, notice that some of them are female. That is right caveman. Women can enjoy football. I went to all my brothers games when they played in high school. Ding. Auto racing? Growing up my father and uncle always had some hot rod race car project going on. They tried to include me when they could. I really like race cars. Ding. Baseball? I played with my brothers. They would not let me in little league. I almost cried over that. Ding. Cooking? Whats wrong with that? Ding. My job. Secretary. So? Part time dancer. Well it is good money, but I am getting out of that business. DING DING. I noticed in your sig that there is a reference to a homo. Is this a latent issue with you? DING DING DING. DING.
Micah. You must be joking about the photo. What women would be crazy enough to post her picture on here? Do all the posters here get this request? I guess I must have missed that thread where all the new people on here need to submit a photo.
Well it was good while it lasted, but I am out of here. Bye.

    Spoken like a true lady.

Hey, I said myself above that 'I WANT it to be true.' I see the post as actually loaded with compliments, as in 'everything a guy would look for', as in you are 'perfect', a 'dream come true' for this forum.

You should understand, there has been an 'identity crisis' around here lately, users registering under different names, pretending to be someone they are not, etc.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Hmmmm.....as far as the photo thing goes, no it is not a requirement, but some of us have posted photos of ourselves just so everybody could put a face with the name, that's all.

I don't think that Russ should bear the brunt here, I think we ALL (and the guilty KNOW who they are) could stand to look at our conduct.

I give props to Russ for at least being honest and saying what is on his mind as opposed to saying things and then acting like an innocent bystander.

    Sherri,

If you happen to come back, I apologize for acting like an ****.

All I have to say is "Ding" you guys ran her out in record time. Un- friggin believable.

Sorry to say but Russ should bear the brunt of it. His post was the straw that broke the camels back. All she was doing was being honest, and all he did was throw it back in her face and accused her of being someone else. I don't blame her for leaving.

Well you have to admit that when 1 person (we all know who) posts under multiple identities, it can make you a bit suspect. Sad but true. To be honest, how many of us are 100% sure of the identities of the people that we deal with here? I do not want to sound paranoid, but we really don't know! She may be who and what she say's she is, or maybe not. Too bad she had to defend herself.

I'm sure Russ is kicking himself over this, but maybe he was right, maybe he was not.

I follow it, if it SEEMS too good to be true than it usually is. Do you really think that when you call a 1-900 # you are REALLY talking to a Vivid Girl just waiting for you? All those 'babes' in chat rooms really lonely supermodels? I doubt it.

Look, all I'm saying is this. When there is a brotha on the forum in need, who is the first **** in line to help out? Russ, that's who.

    Consider:

The Nascarmann flower fund and speaker specialist article.
Russ was the first to volunteer to raise cash to rescue Bob McGowan's amp when it had been stolen.
When wangotango pulled his scam on flason, Russ offered flason a Carver amp from his rig (not a spare but one that would cause a hole in his rig) at a loss to himself.
When I first came to the forum, sent me a pair of Mini-Monitor speakers and essentially told me if I like them, send the money when I could.

Yeah, a real jackass we got here. Look fellas, poor judgement? Maybe. However, let him without sin cast the first stone.

    Let's move on here.

Agree in spirit with what you are saying.

All I'm saying is that Russ has always been the BS police, and that comes from uncompromising honesty. Sometimes it's a two edged sword. Plus, if you take in to consideration his track record for brothas in need, his heart is always in the right place.

As far as the other extracurricular stuff, hey, those involved (myself included) are all guilty. We need to clean up some of this crap, so, let's just get it done. Anyone want to point fingers, point 'em at me and email me at home.

I don't consider myself better than anyone else here. The thoughts posted above sparked my curiousity, and I brought it to the table. Simple as that. So much for 'running with the big dogs', looks like it's back to the porch for Sherri.

I tell ya what guys/gals, I'm not going anywhere, but I'll step back from the plate for a while. You all g'head and do your thing, and enjoy this here fine audio forum.

My sincerest apologies to any and everyone who has taken offense from something I've said. I'll change my behavior for the greater good.

You know, these little arguments about arguments carry on far too long. I've noticed in my short time here that it will happen with any thread. Somebody's ego gets kicked around even a tiny bit and you guys end up with pages and pages of bickering, arguing and cheap shots.

If you all want to clean things up, start asking yourselves questions before you reply. If you are angry, figure out why you are angry, don't post messages that take cheap digs and only serve to aggravate more.

It's happened to me in a few posts. I don't even read the automotive forums because of the egos that are present there. I can fly off the handle myself but there have been quite a few posts that I have tried not to respond to because of petty BS.

Here I am being a long winded fool again but I have something that has worked for me. A teacher at Drexel University told me this in his critical reasoning class.

When you find yourself in a difficult position and you need to produce an argument or assess a situation, follow this rule:

    Who
    What
    When
    Where
    Why
    How

Follow that order exactly because, to find out How we fix the problem and address the situation we need to ask Why did we get to this point to begin with? We cannot answer Why if you do not ask Who, What, When and Where which are the facts behind the situation.

We can **** and fight and argue and complain about feelings and egos all we want. You know what though? They are frosting on the cake that is the real problem. Without the cake, the frosting doesn't stand up too well by itself. Me, I like cake more than I like frosting. Too much frosting makes me sick.

That's all I have to say about that. Thank you for allowing me to impart some of my wisdom.

    Hey guys:
I'm fairly new on the boards and don't mean to speak out of turn. Many of you have offerred me absolutely first class input on my questions, and I thank you deeply for your time and insight.
Just curious though, have you guys really scared off women before?
Now the fact that Sherri could have been a "virtual" imposter is just the reality of the internet, and there is little to do except let time unmask the disguise of someone being dishonest.
It would be nice to interact with some members of the opposite sex from time to time. Just for the different perspective on things. Maybe even a lady into it near the audiophile level.
Now Sherri was not an audiophile, she just said, hey someone is giving me some equipment, what do you guys think of it. So she had some learning to do. At some point, however, that is where many of us enterred into our love of audio. One simple question about some audio gear.
Life is too short, lets try to treat ourselves, and each other better.Anyway, just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.
Again, deep thanx for all your help and knowlege.

I'm new here :) Just look at my post count.

Bought myself a brand new set of Polk RM-7200 + PSW-550 Sub for Christmas. Finally replaced my pair of 8 yr old Sony loudspeakers ! I am totally satisfied with my purchase. This was a very worthwhile upgrade for me.

I still don't quite understand Polk's recommendation to not use the LFE connection from the sub to the receiver. I have it connected as they recommend in the manual. Sounds fantastic so far but in the back of my mind I'm hoping that I am not missing out on something.

It's only a few people who ruin a good thing for the others. To bad you guys (and you know who you are) ran off one of the only females to even want to be a part of this forum off. Sad that the petty bickering never ends huh?

FYI: this is my only account. Why would anyone post under multiple names/accounts? what/who are you hiding from? the FBI? the IRS? namecalling?

Hey if you don't like someone in the forums.. don't lash back out at them.. that just shows your immaturity, that's all. Ignore their post and move on. I've never understood the whole revenge thing myself. To me, revenge is a big huge waste of time and energy. I'd rather us that time to listen to music or watch a hot new DVD instead, on my Polks.
