I knew as soon as I saw boobman post stats would come up:rolleyes: People are killed all the time down here. I have become pretty desensitized by how many times you hear it. This post is about A shooting right next to my work, and it was a woman that we saw nearly every day. When I steep out of my door where I stay I can see where the woman was shot. I'm not scared of anyone shooting me, but it is just messed up.

It is a mess our society have gotten into and is a shame that it has come to almost be the norm to see and hear that type of news. We need to give the power back to the parents and allow disipline without fear of being arrested or haveing child welfare come in.
I remember times when my dad would pull over the side of the road and beat my **** infront of passing cars. I didn't become tramatized as a result like those bleeding hearts would like everyone to think. The problem IMO comes from having no consequence to anything they do and the parents have became just a useless.

I'm working on getting outa hear asap.

    Update.
This is friggen stupid. The dumb **** wanted his tools. He was partners with the woman/girlfriend that got shot. She wouldn't give him his tools. He left, came back, and shot her in the back of her head in front of her son, and hauled ****. Senseless crap like this just pisses me off. I had 2 cousins killed. One was by a serial killer/rapist, and the other was killed over his ATM card. WTF

Someone said "every time someone dies it's a tragedy", that was in response to that.

Someone getting shot isn't acceptable, but it's not always a "tragedy". Hundreds getting killed in some natural disaster is a tragedy. A schoolbus falling off a cliff is a tragedy.

A single death is unfortunate, very sad for the family, regrettable.... not a tragedy. Sorry. There has to be degrees to everything, not every single thing warrants the most extreme emotion we have.

ANY time a life is needlessly and senselessly taken it is a tragedy.

Tragedy: A disastrous event, especially one involving distressing loss or injury to life

A mother being shot in front of her kid fits that definition pretty well.

Here is a picture of my cousin. She is the third from the left. She was much prettier than that crappy pic. She was 17, and I was 11 when she was killed. He raped her, killed her, and dragged her into the swamp. My uncle had to go to the crime scene, and identify her. Anytime someone is killed over BS it literally makes my whole body heat up, I twitch, and sweat.

I have often looked and thought of those stats and if you really think that every 1/3 second someone dies then wouldn't there come a time that there would be no people left rather quickly? and even if there was one born at the same rate there would be a bunch of parentless kids/babies running around.

    Dave

It's something like 3 deaths a second and four births so we're doing just fine as far as population growth goes.

Oh Ben, that's awful, absolutely terrible. I sure hope that the person had been caught and handled with in a similar manner. I fully agree with capitol punishment and in "an eye for an eye", but that was the way I was brought up you don't do to somebody if you don't want or wouldn't want the same to happen to you.
