Yes, a loss of human life is certainly a tragedy.

Sorry Ben, I didn't mean to come off sounding callous or indifferent to what happened. Just a reference to etwigs' doomsday thread...

I'm used to it. My buddy found a dead hooker next to one of our dumpsters. Its hard to pick a body up by yourself, and get it in the dumpster. One killer involved in that one.

I guess it could be for a killer of small stature , the important thing is getting them up and over and into the dumpster before they release their bowels

Uhh, I'm pretty sure it's just life. Someone dies every third of a second, that's an awful lot of "tragedy."

Yeh with drunks. I was the one who had to move the bodies during parties.

Well we got a few more details. It was a woman that was killed. We used to see her washing the cars in front of the body shop. He boyfriend is now the suspect.
    Stupid.

So getting shot to death is a part of life? 'Cause here in New Jersey, we put people on trial for murder usually when that happens. That would imply that getting shot to death is not an acceptable part of life.

Someone said "every time someone dies it's a tragedy", that was in response to that.

Someone getting shot isn't acceptable, but it's not always a "tragedy". Hundreds getting killed in some natural disaster is a tragedy. A schoolbus falling off a cliff is a tragedy.

A single death is unfortunate, very sad for the family, regrettable.... not a tragedy. Sorry. There has to be degrees to everything, not every single thing warrants the most extreme emotion we have.

Yeah. I hear Jersey is pretty rough. A friend of mine saw a guy (shot) murdered in Camden, NJ. He is a truck driver, and was waiting overnight to drop of a trailer load of truck parts. He was sleep and heard an argument, and looked out the window of the sleeper and Boom! He saw a man shot. Here in Memphis is very rough in certain areas as well.

I have often looked and thought of those stats and if you really think that every 1/3 second someone dies then wouldn't there come a time that there would be no people left rather quickly? and even if there was one born at the same rate there would be a bunch of parentless kids/babies running around.

I see a bunch of cacoon people around here too but if those stats were accurate I would think we would all be gone in short order except mabey the last one left who would then have to either kill him/herself or die of old age by themself. We just couldn't reproduce and grow fast enough to keep up with the stats death rate IMO.
