Just because people are making light of a situation doesn't mean that they don't know any better. Honestly, Obama fits the description of the anti-Christ quite well. But you know what? Just the sheer fact that you and the thread starter seem to have an air of superiority about you opens you up for the mocking.

i wasn't saying that i'm any better than anyone else...i'm just saying that i have read and believe...bottom line. You are probably right that most people possibly know better...maybe i shouldn't have put it that way, but it seemed that this guy was getting ganged up on and made fun of and i don't think that's overly cool. Obviously not everyone will have the same views...anyone not agreeing with him could have just said so...but people needed to start calling him a radical and a wacko.

To celebrate the revolutionary insight that this thread has provided, I just bought two more black rifles and 5,000 more rounds of ammunition. I've got at least 2,500 gal of diesel fuel, two generators, a bunch of guns, MRE's by the case, and 30,000 more rounds of ammunition at the bunker on my farm.

Let's rock and roll and get this end of the world party going

Just so we are all straight on this, jayman_1975 and etwigs34 are in the camp that believe the world is going to end soon and should not be referred to as "wacko" because of their beliefs. Lets look at the definition of the term wacko. A wacko is a person regarded as eccentric or irrational. Believing the world is going to end soon would, for the general population, put you into the wacko category. Nothing wrong with being a wacko, it's just a classification.

Actually, some of the stuff does seem to line up.

If you look at what the definition of the Anti-Christ, it says stuff like he will come to great power, he will be muslim, he will bring war, he will be liked by all and so on and so forth. I have seen a ton of talk on the Intarweb about Obama and his political platform very much matching the description of the Anti-Christ. Needless to say, there is a fairly large religious movement towards other candidates. But the generation that saw Israel reborn is only in their 60's and many of them are still alive. So that generation very well could see both.

One of the ancient Central American civilization calenders supposedly end is 2012 and describes that it will be the end of an era. Many interpret it as the end of the world. Whether correctly or incorrectly, it does end in 2012.

Of course all the Biblical stuff is there and then there is Nostradamus' stuff too.

But honestly, the real question is how all this is interpreted. Some take literal meanings, others take symbolic meanings.

One thing I've found quite interesting is the speculation on "technological singularity".

Interesting stuff. Does "the end of the world" mean an end to this physical planet? An end to our physical existence...an extinction of the human race? Does it mean an end to life as we know it? I mean, the Terminator movies refer to the day that the master machine, what ever it was, became self-aware as judgement day.

What does it all really mean? Do we even know when it is coming? How can you prepare for it? What if you spend your entire life holed up in a paranoid shelter with your guns and food only to emerge later in life just before your death to realize that extreme advancements in technology have been made and you missed it all?

I don't know what to think because none of the predictions are clear, even in the Bible. What one needs to do to ensure survival is clearly written in the Bible though. That is live a good life and honor and obey the Lord. After all, this life is merely a preparation for the eternal afterlife. So, which do you really believe? Do you believe in the whole Bible and the teachings found within or do you only want to read and believe that which suits your agenda?
