Is their any way I can get my ps3 to play movies in blu-ray full screen. When I play it in BD it only shows widescreen. When playing SD-DVD I can use the projectors auto image to fill the whole screen if its a widescreen movie.

Any suggestions please help

    i don't understand... you are using a widescreen projector, the PS3 should display full screen unless the aspect ratio is higher than 1.78:1 (e.g. 2.35:1). All Blu-ray movies are already widescreen.

    I have a 16 x 9 110 inch screen and when watching Blu ray movies it does not fill the whole screen

    you got black bars where... on the sides or top and bottom??? all around???? what type of connection??? component??? HDMI?

    Black Bars on the bottom and top. I am using sony component cables. The previews and menu show full screen but as soon as the movie come on back to widescreen

    Like Jon said, most movies are filmed in a wider aspect ratio then wide screen TV's. So you will still get small back bars on the top and bottom. The reason is that they are made for theaters, and most theaters have a very wide aspect ratio. The previews as specifically made for TV, so they were altered to fit the screen. Your TV might have a zoom feature that will fix this, but it will cut off the sides a little bit.

    Most new theatrical releases are now made with an aspect ratio of 2.35 or higher... which means even with your widescreen set, there will be black bars on the top and bottom. If you were watching on a 4:3 set, the black areas would be even larger.

    Your aspect ratio of the screen is only 16:9 or 1.78:1... most directors are now going to 2:35:1 which means an even wider screen is needed. Some of the newer projectors can now display 2.35:1 for people who buy 2.35 screens.
