Ummm, lossless audio in the form of TrueHD and UPCM, that's huge over HD-DVDs DD+. Secondly, a new transfer supervised by Mr. Bay. Oh, and all the extra bennies of the HD-DVD too boot.

Has any of this been confirmed by Paramount?,, Because what I've read Paramount hasn't released any info yet on Transformers. Also Why would they need a DD+, a TrueHD, and a PCM track on the same disc?

Yes, it is confimed by Paramount.

Secondly, I have no idea why both a TrueHD and UPCM track is included but it'll be nice to compare the two different codecs. DD+, most likely for those that cannot do the HD audio formats.

Cool, I definitely be double dipping on this one then. :D

BTW, the DD+ track is what makes me wonder about all this info, I've seen several disc with a PCM and a TrueHD track on some earlier BD disc, 300 comes to mind right off the top of my head, but not with 3 hi-rez audio tracks. Also I was under the impression that all BD where required to have a legacy DD track. But since it been confirmed I can stop nit-picking over all this and set back and wait for Sept.

I'll be impressed if it sounds better that the DD+ on HD DVD. It did win the "Best Audio Quality" award on High-Def Digest for all next-gen movies last year.

I have no doubt it'll sound better, there's nothing missing from the TrueHD / PCM mix, while the DD+ track is left wanting. Sure it's a great sounding DD+ mix, and that is what the award is for, a DD+ mix. It's quite clear the extras on this disc won over a hi-rez audio track, stupid, I know. It's a damn good thing Blu-ray won this war, more space so we early adopters don't lose out on quality A/V over extras.

How HUGE can be really? Didnt transformers HD DVD win the best sound of all HD DVD/Br titles? Thats sayting something about DD++

And I really doubt it will be HUGE.

I have the HD-DVD version and the sound in the last battle is pretty good, but the sound in the first half of the movie kind of sucked imo. (could have been the A2 processing to DTS though) Anyway, I would like to hear the uncompressed track to compare that is for sure.

Are 5.1 PCM Uncompressed tracks transmitted over hdmi, or is it an analog only type connection?

Both. When I had my HD-A1 I used the analog connection for TrueHD and UPCM.
