...for someone else that is.

They liked some of what I have done so they asked me to do their master bedroom. I will be starting on 6/13 and hopefully it will be done on 6/17. She will be out of town and I am hoping to do a dramatic 'reveal' when she gets back. Also hoping that she will refer me to a couple of friends and show it off if she likes it.Budget is $3500.00 and I hired my handyman today :D.

Thanks. I do too. He came highly recommended and the price was right. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I told him EVERYTHING absolutely had to be done within the 4 days. I would tell you guys what I am doing but I want it to be a surprise. It won't look the same though.

Looks like your friend might want to hide the wine bottles, and the lube poking out of the drawer before picture time.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

And just to avoid any confusion...this is NOT my room. SO anything incriminating in it I am not responsible for. I guess I should have paid closer attention. This must have been taken after a particularly interesting night. I didn't even notice. I was just thinking design.:p

Darla, not to reign on your parade......Your "get it done" man.....If he doesn't.? What then? I hate being pessimistic, I hate being "that guy", but what if I'm right? Do you have an alternate plan? The last guy let me down in terms of what I saw in terms of workmanship. You confident? ;)

I hope so dear. So does my wife.

I have almost everything bought. Still looking for some nice nightstands. I have managed to get a dresser and the artwork on special (floor models). A little touch up and they will be good as new. One of my problems is that the homeowner doesn't want cheap furniture (Ikea, West Elm) and that has been difficult. I got a solid wood espresso dresser though for $350 (originally $850). It just has a couple of dings I have to stain. Hopefully I can do it well enough to where she won't notice.

I spent $500 yesterday on the artwork (originally $900). Same story. I have to stain some dings in the frames. You can get some really good bargains if you are prepared to work a little.

Sooo, the work has begun and it's moving along pretty well I guess. The electrician came today with his apprentice and he started to do a few outlets and mapped out the lighting. Then his assistant comes to him obviously upset and says that his nephew has just been kiled. Shot by the Police.

    Awkwaaaard.

Anyhoo, they took off so the apprentice could get to his family and the electrician will be back in the morning. I did schedule two extra days because I know nothing ever goes as planned but that's a new one.

That storage/bookcase over the bed is awesome! However, I would put one up on another wall. What if it decided to come down? Especially if you are in bed underneath it?:eek::eek::eek:

Finally! She will be howm any second and it was down t the wire. I literally finished hanging curtains minutes ago. I did not have time to iron the bedding or curtains so it's not HGTV picture perfect but here ya go. Hmmm..I think I will see if I can go straighten out that bed a bit more before she gets here. Funny you should ask....:p. Please contrast and compare tio the originals. The other sections aren't as exciting as the focal point and for good reason. They are pleasant and functional. I did not have time to do her wiring so it's a bit messy and she needs to get someone else to set up her crappy HT :D. I wasn't about to have speaker wire all over this room!

Nothing I can do about the tile. (ick ) Can't do a carpet or rug because the only thing that would go there would be white or off white and it would be black in a week so I just left it alone. I was gonna do an upholstered bench at the fot of the bed but the budget choked that idea. I went a lot over as it is.

Awesome! Is the metal tree on the one side being mirrored (on the mirror) on the other side? Cool! I will say that one of the things I saw recently was an actual painting of a tree on a wall. This would have been awesome in this case rather than the metal tree. Just a different, not better, idea. I like it. Will you do design via email?
