yeah we just picked up Linn.

Damn there stuff is nice. Expensive but seems pretty worth the asking price.
We have the Majik System. It consists of a Integraded amp, cd player and a pair of speakers. Gear is sliver and the speakers are a sweet maple color. Whats unique to the speakers is they are quad amp able. I never saw a speaker designed like this. I have seem tri but not quad.

The super tweeter is to die for. Damn it's so clear. I can't wait to get the chance to set the system up in some ones home. We have it on display at the Lawerenceville/Princeton store. We are working on getting a 2 channel room built. As a company we are getting back into 2 channel. More and more you will see more 2 channel. Turntables are also back. I love it. It makes me want to build a deadicated 2 channel system. I think I will.

Linn stuff is a bit different. The activ cards are quite an option
to get the best out of speakers.
I've come close to buying a couple of Linn products.
The local dealer has had a lot of great trade ins.
The hardest part is pronouncing the equipment names.

The only Linn that I ever owned was a Linn Sondek. It was a cool thing to have, but this was back in late 70s. It would be a full circle if Linn's brand come alive again. Not that it ever completely demised.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

The only Linn stuff I've seen has popped up here and there on the local CL, but it's been too expensive for me to play with. I would like to give it a demo someday though...

Quad amp on the speakers, eh Mantis? Can you put up a pictures because I have no idea what that would even look like.

Some of the best bookshelf speakers I've ever heard were Linn Katans hooked up to a Linn Classik, with a Sizmik Sub. I heard this rig in a small shop by the name of Absolute Audio in the shadows of the Carolina Panther's football stadium in Charlotte several years ago. It is a system I still remember 6+ years latter. I would like to revisit some Linn gear to see if it is as good as I remember.

I still kick myself from time to time over not buying a mint pair of Linn Kelidh's in cherry a few years back when I started A$$A for only $550. Gorgeous sounding, though the bass was heavy, but that could have been fixed using a piece of floor tile to have each speaker stand on.

I've heard a fair number of Linn systems. I'm afraid it just simply isn't my cup of tea. I've heard the new Majik system but found it was adept at very specific music and wasn't well rounded. When I tried playing tracks, from a TV On The Radio CD I had on me, things fell apart quickly. I also listened to a Linn Aktiv Kaber system, again I thought the mid and bass was nice but the treble was a little too tightly tilted upwards.

I do however like the classic system and have thought about it for my home office. The entire approach of Linn with regards to audio is refreshing much like Meridian. The idea of active crossovers and amplifiers built into a speaker is a step forward in an industry that is all too often filled with refinement and not enough forward thinking.

Hey man....shouldn't you be working right now to pay for all new fancy gear ??? If your talking about Aktiv cards...NO....My LINNs are passive configuration....I have never heard the Aktiv LINN system but I hear it is pretty impressive....Talk to Rainman about the Aktiv presentation....he has heard them in Aktiv mode......PLUS...Aktiv mode requires LINN amps and they are $$$$$$$$

Drool... My favorite uncle has been into Linn gear for years; it's like walking into a candy store whenever I go visit him.
