    There's also a direct correlation with the health of the individual and how tightly they monitor their blood glucose levels. So although people may be taking the same meds, or may be on insulin, one persons pancreas may be fine (assuming they have type 2 diabetes) while anothers may fail. Aside from unforeseen genetic factors involved, how closely they monitor their blood sugar will greatly affect their health.
