Woo, what a magical voice this disc has...

Incredibly vocal and piano recording with ALOT of air...
- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

    She has a sweet voice that nearly intoxicates you. Too bad she looks like my x wife, and has that look on her face that screams slap me(I have not yet slapped my X:p) I hope Sona doesn't read this:D Check her out on youtube, and you will see what I mean.

    You ever hear "peel me a grape"?
    A good reason why she should be heard, and not seen.

    No I haven't. Only what's on "The Girl In The Other Room" and "The Look Of Love". I'd rather peel a onion than listen to her. :D

    I find that intriguing. When I first started to listen to Diana I was confused. It was like an acquired taste. At first she made me sleepy, but after a few listens I started to get "into the grove", and she would pick me up. I have to listen to her on my custom SDA's to really get into it. 32 MW's just simply energize you. Leaves your hair standing up.

    Yeah I had a thing for her when I saw the pictures, but after seeing the videos, and the restraining order I soon lost interest...

    I'd spin Watching the Detectives a billion times before glancing at a Diane Krall album.
    I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

    When I Look In Your Eyes has long been one of favorites reference discs. Very well recorded, awesome jazz arrangements, and great voice.

    I do not enjoy The Look of Love nearly as much.

    I probably need to get my hands on the newer stuff including the Grammy winning live album.
    For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

    My favorite is her first one, "Stepping Out-The Early Recordings".

    There are 3 or 4 selections with no vocals; just her paino, bass and drums (John Clayton and Jeff Hamilton). Very good IMO.

    The weird thing is, listening to her with speakers does nothing for me.
    I listen using Stax headphones, whole other experience.
    Different sound completely.

    Live in Paris is a crazy-good cd. Her version of "Do I Love You?" is amazing. I didn't realize there's a dvd, guess I gotta add that to the netflix queue.
    Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

    Just my own opinions, but I feel obligated :-) to share them:

    * She looks like a brat, grown-up. I am not big into blondes in general, but I really dont' find her terribly attractive at all.

    * She is at best an uninteresting singer. I actually find her to be pretty poor; she sounds like a Canadian trying to sound slightly soulful. In a very different context, Van **** Parks referred to something similar as "white boy got the woo-woos".

    * She's a pretty good pianist.

    * Her albums sound great.

    YMMV, of course... :-)
