My brother is still going to school and works part time, He made like 18K last year and they are giving him only $300
Thats got to be it.
I made more than 18k but not much more...
I guess thats the reason...
I don't know why though. I thought if I was under the 75k mark i was in like flyn.:D
Guess not. -
I have not recieved mine yet. Since I had to pay taxes, I obviously did not use direct deposit. My penalty for paying promptly on Feb 2nd, is that my check will not arrive until July.
Ding Ding - same here. When and if I do get it, it will be a partial....
We do plan on putting it twords the family vacation though so it will be spent as intended.

ROTFLOL! I love Turbo Tax, but I will never use their filing option. I can wait a few weeks to get the deposit directly from the Treasury & keep that processing fee for myself! AND get my rebate deposit when it is scheduled!!!:DIf you filed with Turbo Tax and selected to have the direct deposit processing fees deducted from your return amount, then you will not be getting a direct deposited rebate. You will instead receive a check via mail per the distribution schedule for checks.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

what is this direct deposit processing fee? I've used Turbo Tax for the past several years and had my returns direct deposited and never had any kind of fees.
And I got my stimulus check direct deposited exactly when the IRS said I would. -

I think they're referring to having the TurboTax fee directly taken out of your refund rather than paying for it with a separate card.If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
ahh. I see. I get TurboTax filing free for being a State Farm customer so I never see any fees.

I agree I think if they give any money back everyone who pays taxes should get a certain amount but the stimulus is meant to go back into the economy. I know many of us are going to save it / put it away but most of the people receiving a stimulus check will spend it and that's what they want.
On the surface, I buy into the argument that the stimulus is more likely to be spent by those making less and saved by those making more, but then I thought of myself. My wife and I made too much to get any, but I don't expect I would have saved it simply becuase it is not enough money to fool with from an investment/saving prospective. It may get lumped in with other money, but I doubt it. In all probability, if we did not spend it on something, we would have donated it to a charity. I acutally think those making less would be more likely to "save" this money since it may make a more significant impact in their annual savings rate. As I said, for me, there is nothing from an investment standpoint that I would do in $1,200 increments. -
We didn't qualify either. Sucks, we paid plenty in taxes last year. I could easily find something to spend the money on - like, maybe, a vacation?

I feel sorry for all those retailers who are banking on people spending $600 in their stores, now it looks like it may NOT be even 1/2 of that!I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!
