I am looking for a SVS cylinder type sub. Something in the $300-$500 range shipped.
Could be open to other box model SVS subs too. Just let me know what you've got and we can go from there.
Cheers
Nick

I don't have one for sale, but I just want to let you know that you are in for a treat if you find one
Purchasing mine was, without a doubt, the single best upgrade I have made in my entire HT career (since starting it, of course)!

If I can't find a good used one I am going to buy one new straight form SVS
EDIT: Holy Crap!!!!! I just noticed they have a cheaper series. The CS. I can get a 25-32 CS for $379.00 plus $46.00 for shipping.
If I can't find a better model here with in the week I will have one of these babies on the way.:D -

Why do you want SVC's? Why not DVC'S?

Have you checked their "B Stock" or whatever they call it on the website? I think they usually have items that have been returned or have small manufacturing defects but come with at least a partial warranty (can't remember for sure if it is full or not).
Might be worth checking out - SVS is definitely not out to screw you so you can buy with confidence.

How are SVS subs compared to Martin Logan? Which is superior?

I dunno??
Start a thread or use the search button. There are plenty of information on both. -
Bump.
I'm still looking..... -
I would imagine SVS subs are hard to find second hand, no one wants to get rid of them! I completely agree with dbaldus, the sub added a whole new dimension to my movie watching experience. Even if you buy new for full price you get every cent (and more) of performance out of your purchase.// Panasonic AE8000 // Pioneer SC-57 // Polk Audio RTi A9 // Polk Audio CSiA6 //
// Polk Audio FXi A6 // SVS PB12-NSD Subwoofer // Logitech Harmony Ultimate // Pro-Ject Debut III //
// Oppo BDP-103 // Microsoft Xbox One Day One Edition // Sony Playstation 4 1TB SSHD // Nintendo Wii U //

Everybody keeps telling me how great these subs are and I can't find one.:(
Hopefully something will pop up.:)

I'll be in Chicago this weekend, but if you want it and can pay cash or check, then I'll throw the SVS Sub, the Signal Magic PC and the SPL Meter all in and deliver to your place on Monday for $700.

Well Nick has been quiet for awhile...must not be very impressed . I owned that sub. It's very capable. Let's hear a review (if he hasn't been evicted).

Nik said this:OK...
I got the sub dialed in and setup correctly.
This thing is Wicked!!!
At first when I set it up at lunch I was a Little disappointed. But after I spent some time with the Avia II setup disc. It's flat out amazing!!!
I am watching Transformers right now. Its like watching the movie for the first time. Its so different with a sub than without. -

I am still playing with it and experimenting with it.
But so far its pretty amazing.
I think there is more in it though.
I tuned it to 12Hz the other night but that seemed to low. I lost more top than I thought I would.
It's tuned to 16 Hz right now and it seems like it might stay at 16Hz. Its very smooth there with enough top end to satisfy me. I have to run a little more gain to maintain SPL's. But..... Its still only half way up.:D:cool:
I need to run Avia II again and see where its at. I haven't recalibrated since the change to 16Hz. I think its running a little soft. So I'll be interested to see where its at DB wise. If its running soft like I think it is. I think once I get it bumped up to reference specs it ought to be perfect.
I might do review in a week or two.
This wasn't something I could give a good review on with just a few days of listening. Especially with the different tuning levels the SVS is capable of.
Cheers

Ron Temple wrote: »12hz leaves that sub underported unless you have a very small room. I preferred it in native tune, but experimented w/16hz. The sub just sounded more dynamic tuned @ 20hz and I still got flat extention into the mid-teens with room gain. It's an impressive sub. I felt it's HT capabilities were better than a Velo DD15 I was trying out at the time.
I just set it up for the 16Hz tune. I will watch movies with it set this way for the rest of week and then go back to the 20hz tune this weekend to see which one I like better.
I just demoed the beginning of Cars is it sounds pretty damn good.
cheers
