Did I blow another speaker?

I’ve had my new RTiA7's since March and been really enjoying them, especially with my shiny new Denon 2808 receiver. I’ve made several adjustments in placement and used the mic that Denon supplied to calibrate and adjust for room acoustics.

I listen to alot of music and found that David Glimmer live BD set sounds absolutely amazing! I have listened it several times already and have really pushed my A7's hard on some tracks. I've always been careful not to push the amp to where it starts to clip or peak out, and I’ve never blown any speakers before.

I really like the Silversun Pickups, and have been diving into their album a lot. I mention this because it was track 4, Little Lover's so Polite that I started to hear really bad sound out of the right midrange speaker. I stopped it and started testing the speaker on other tracks. I got the same results, the speaker is blown.

I call Polk and spoke with a great rep (didn't write down his name) he first told me to remove the speaker and mail it to the warranty department. After talking with him a bit longer, he offered to mail me a replacement with instructions to mail back the old.

I got my speaker and installed it this weekend. I listened to David Gilmore, a few scenes from Twister and Golden Compass, and started on some music. I listened to them for a good 3 hours or so, everything sounds great.

...Until, I started listening to Silversun again. I noticed how distorted the left midrange is sounding. I turned it up a little to see if it was just in the music, and heard the speaker start to make a good crackle sound. I turned it off and began my test again on other music. I’m getting the same thing that just happened to the right speaker.

Well, after going through that I have a few questions...

Is Silversun that distorted of a sound that its really blowing my speakers?
Am I listening to it so loud that its blowing my speakers?
(I think my receiver was at like -10 when I heard it. Ive had David Gilmore at 2.0 and sounded great!)
Did I get bad speakers?
Is my amp not set right?
you get the idea...

Thanks for reading and if you have any input, or any questions I can answer, I would love that :)

I plan on calling Polk again in the morning.
