Justin, the tags are a great feature and should be kept.

The way they are being used by some just shows that this forum is way too permisive. I am sure there's a way for you to see who created the tags. If inappropriate, just delete them and send a warning, temporaly ban, etc.
(I was the first to use them in an inappropriate way.....but I was drunk at the time and later cleared them :o).

Oh, and an anti troll rule should also be implemented.
If the software here is similar to the boards I mod, moderators can't see who made the tags, but can easily remove them.

Since they are a new toy, it's expected that people would enter silly or stupid things at first. Give them a little time, I'm sure that'll wear off quickly and they will be used as they were intended to be.

Uh, no. The alteregos are big enough around here already, CP with avatars would equal complete retardation, and possibly cause a ripple of evil ending life on the planet.

You're right. Its **** like this that makes audiokarma TOTALLY retarded.

What exactly would be the forum name, and what would be the description? Would this go under "Special Interests?"

I think a digital and analog subsection under the 2 ch category would be good.

For the most part stickies clutter up the opening page and eventually become a problem. Ever been to some other audio websites, like Home Theatre Spot? Ugh, it's off the hook there.

You'll always get those questions, regardless of a pre-existing sticky. The topics can be freshly discussed or the search feature used, prior to posting another thread. People like to post and start their own threads....that's just a forum dynamic.

Tags - Im not real sure how to use em but I like the idea of making searching easier. There have been a bunch of times Ive wanted to look something up that I remember reading a couple years ago but cant think of a keyword to bring up the right thread or 1,000,000 different threads come up. Tags and prefixes seem to make this easier which sounds good to me.

Another thing, maybe a FAQ sticky in the appropriate threads. This would help stop all the new threads from new users asking the same questions over and over again. Users could submit questions to Justing via PM or whatever along with the answers. I know there is a FAQ on here somewhere but, especially on the car audio side, the vast majority of users over there dont even realize there is another entire side to this forum. I suspect its the same for the home audio side as well when a newbie comes in wanting to know what speaker wire to use with his Yamaha receiver and RTi8's.

Other than a FAQ sticky, I agree with too many of them suck. Ive been to forums where the first 3 pages it seems are stickies! Good grief!

Justin, is there a way to allow us to "preview" a thread topic by hovering the mouse over the topic? It makes scanning threads a little easier. I'm noticing some of the car sites I frequent have this feature.

The 'News' prefix is so bright or a funky color that I can't read it. I just know what it is by its brightness.

Is anyone else having this problem?

If so then maybe another color would be better.

Justin - What's up with the feedback? Somethings changed but it doesn't affect everyone. I can't make heads or tails as to why.

Some sort of system that takes age of the sale into consideration maybe? Doro, all of your feedback numbers still seem to be there but it's like it's not counting anything older than 6 months. Just a guess.

I hate these "tags" nothing but a distraction. When you go into the "forsale" area does every thread need to have a "forsale" tag attached to it? Really? Get rid of them or tone the colors down so there not such an in your face distraction.

Oh, and have a nice day.

We're on the same page. In another thread I believe I said they make Club Polk look like a cheap whorehouse.
