Whats up all,
over the past few months I keep reading all these things around here and I feel the need to say a few things.

1) If you don't own a Ps3 as your blu ray player your a smack loser and got ripped off.

2) If you don't own a Imac or Mac computer you are a loser and smack and have no idea about anything.

3) If you don't own a Iphone you are a loser and way behind on the times. trying to use anything else is useless and a waste of time.

4) being a Fanboy rules and everything else sucks.

Sound like something you heard or read before?

My question is this... Why the hell does any of that kind of stuff bother others? Do you not have your own opnion of the above products?

Lets start with the Ps3. In my opnion it's the best on the market. but it has limits that for some can be no good. No Ir option factory. Honestly that sucks ****. I hate it but find the Ps3 to be so good it doesn't make me want a stand alone. No 6 channel outs. Ok for me I don't like it as I don't have a preamp with HDMI 1.3 and built in decoders yet. So when I listen to my ps3 , I have to use Optical out and not use the new audio formats. I do however have HDMI display. Other then those things I love my Ps3. I am a Audio video Installer and have Installed all current and past Blu ray players. I have been apart of Hdmi and DVI from the start and pained my way around all this madness. I have seen all blu ray players piss off all of my customers who come from DVD due to the extreme loading time. That is a poor design and sucks ****. This is where the Ps3 shines. It takes 12 seconds to get a disc in and you can get it going under 45 seconds . No other blu ray player can even touch this. Also with the Ps3 you get all the other benefits with built in media server and game system. it's a powerful unit that if it cost 1000.00 it would be fully worth it. I would have paid up to 1500.00 without a problem due to what it can do and I know what it takes to get all those features to go in other gear. Value here is extreme. Very rare in electronics to see a unit come out so under priced. Our gain and I'm extremely thankful for it.

Now this is all personal experience and has nothing to do with anyone else. These are personal needs that got met or not and should only be a tool for one to decide if it is worth it to check the Ps3 out for one self. If any needs match mine, you may enjoy this unit. If not then you need to move on and decide which Blu ray , Media , Game system , Internet system is right for you. You may only want 1 or more and can get that done with multible units that meet your needs. There is no need or time for Judging one opnion. It is not fact and should not be taken as such. Again I say take it for what it is and see if it makes sense to you. Again if not move along.

2) Iphone. I have owned many cell phones. At one time I felt there was no need for anything but the ability to call someone away from a land line. I felt all the features in cell phone for years where useless and a waste of money. With this in mind, the Iphone would be the most useless phone on the market. Well over the years MY needs changed and the Iphone and those types of phone became more and more attractive. The Razor was my phone before the Iphone and I loved it. One guy at work purchased the Iphone the day it came out and man I feel in love with it. being on the road all the time with my job, having such a powerful all in one unit like the Iphone serves so many needs. just having the Internet in it's full like a computer is priceless. My line of work requires me to know alot of stuff. When I run into a product I'm not trained on, sometimes I need to get on the net and learn a few things or answer a question I have. I could go on and on about my personal needs with the Iphone but I will spare all of you. My bottom line is this on this, the Iphone tends to MY personal needs. It's up to you to figure out IF the Iphone is for you or not. It's not a cheap phone like the Ps3 is so that has to be factored in when deciding to get one or not. There is no deals on them. So taking MY needs and thinking that the Iphone is the be all end all is pointless. For me it is, for you thats for you to decide.

3)Mac computers. I have been a computer user since the late 80's. I have owned all Pc type computers . Dos to windows all the way to xp. I have pained with All windows machines including the loved Windows ME version which was worse then 98. Over time I had children, wife and multible computers that I had to constantly fix. I spent more time fixing them then using them. I wanted to just eff it and get out of the computer thing by throwing them all out the window and running them over with my truck. Same guy who turned my on to the Iphone(which happened after I got into Mac computers) is who turned me on to Apple all together. He showed me his 2 mac computers and told me how is doesn't fix them. I said thats bull. He said ask my wife. He has used mac computers for years and years and just uses them. You could call him a Fanboy by certain peoples opnions. After what I experienced , he has the right to earn that title. So my very next computer purchase was a Imac 24 inch. It was hard at first to switch over as I was so used to how Mindows works. But after a few times, I couldn't believe how well and easy it works. I'm not a big computer games so not having the array of games that PC has meant nothing to me. I am so Impressed with my Imac that I purchased a Mac Mini for my son to replace his Dell desktop. It's the size of a router and it faster and more powerful then all my Pc desktops including a 2.8 G P3 with 1g memory and 250 harddrive. It smokes it on boot up and running anything that they both run. Also networking was a breeze. I basically did nothing to set it up. I use a Apple airport Extreme gigabit and it's flawless. No dropouts nothing. It just works how it is suppost to. This is all I want out of computers and Apple shines for me. I can go onand on about all the things I love about Apple products.

So does this mean Pc users are buttholes? No all this means is that Apple is the right fit for me and my family. We all love Apple and it has been a completely positive experience. Remember you are not us. You have to decide if Apple is right for you. You and you alone can decide that. You can see what it does for me and others and if your needs match that, then yes you should check out Apple stuff. If not move on.

Again I don't get all the angry people out there for people who like there stuff. Let them say your a **** for not owning what they own. Who the hell really cares. People you have so much better things to do then sit around reading these things or listening to anyones opnion and saying you should share it or be a ****. Be your own person. I would never buy or not buy something due to any of this. If there is a cult following for a products and I hated every last person who was a so called Fanboy but the product worked for me.... gues what I will get out myself. I would not deny myself due to anything else. Eff that.

Sorry for the extreme long thead here but I just keep seeing these things go on and people judging products due to what other people say about them. Reviews are always good to some degree but they are never the be all end all for anyone but the person reviewing it.

Good luck out there and try to put your efforts into enjoying life and everything it has to offer. Enjoy our hobbies.

I do will you??
Dan

    - Cant afford a Mac. PC works just fine at half the price.
    - Cant afford an Iphone. My Verizon LG works just fine at 1/4 the price.
    - Dont want a Blu Ray player til the movies come down under $30. Upconverted SD-DVD's look just fine at 1/4 the price.
    - Same goes for the PS3. Im still having fun buying Xbox games for $10 and playing them. When the PS3 or Xbox360 gets under $200 and the games around $20, Ill go there.

Ya know, I never realized how much of a cheap **** I am until right now.

Funny thing, I've spent far less total cost on my Mac than my wife's Compaq and I'm a notoriously frugal individual. But that's me, variety is the spice of life.

Don't own a cell phone for myself, and will avoid it as long as humanly possible.

    Video games bore me personally.

I'll get Blu-Ray in a couple of years, until then I'm quite content. Besides, any extra money is going into the gas tank it seems right now.

there will always be those individuals that like to buy the items everyone else has.. that's fine for them.. if they have the cash flow. i have no problem with it. I personally don't live like that. Nothing wrong with owning a Blu Ray or other component, it's the wave of watching movies at home right now.. and the picture quality is much better than standard DVD.

I don't own any of the ones listed. I do own an HD DVD player, and that's fine for me now. In a year or so I'l switch to BLu Ray, but I'm in no hurry.

As for the rest, I don't own any video game console.. i've been there, done that for many years. I don't need to do it again. I don't have or will never own an IPhone, IPOd, but a MAC computer isn't out of the question for me down the road.
