I really like their Punch cable for the price. Also check out the Acoustic Research cable at Partsexpress; it's a great budget cable for a good price.

I vote either, both are great cables. The SC is as hardcore as it gets, imo. The PS Audio are more flexible, if routing the cord in a tight space is an issue.

what price range are you calling cheap?
i was told once by the maker of some expensive power cables that most of the power cables in the lower price ranges are built around the same recipe, so buy from the one with the best price.
at the time i was asking about signal, element, and zebra cable.

I threw down for Other, as I wasn't sure what cheap was. I got a bunch of Volex 17604s for <$10 each. 6ft 14 gauge wire, well shielded with relatively tight fitting connectors. I use the originals with better quality wire and brass connectors on my amps, cheaper ones on everything else.

Both PC's are good. Of the two, I prefer the PS Audio for an amp but I don't know which model/series/year you are referring to, so take that with a grain of salt.

I voted "other" because I have had positive results with Analysis Plus Copper for amps. Actually, subs [with amps] and amps. Very pleased with the performance there.

This is my 1st power cord upgrade. Is there any noticeable difference? Please educate me. I think I can't go wrong with either of those. Thanks for the replies.

I use the SC's. Magic Power for my amp, Magic Digital for the preamp and source. Frank is a great guy to deal with, I highly recommend...
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

I was going to suggest making one yourself, but you'd be hard pressed to build a decent one for that price.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

That's what I was thinking on other thread. For $60~70 I think I can get better cable with wattgate and neotech or vh audio. But I think I might go with either signal or ps audio if I couldn't find used good one.

What do you think about that AudioQuest for Pre/Pro since it is 15AWG thick wire instead of Signal Cable $70 digital reference.

If you want the Signal Cable digital reference, I think I have one in the goodie box that I'm not using. $45 smackers to your door if you haven't already made a purchase.

PS Audio Statement power cords are excellent. They present a smooth overall sound with great bass punch. I find the Signal's to be edgy. YMMV.

The Statement's are not what one may call cheap, but not bad if you buy them used.

MKZ, you should be very happy with the signal cable digital reference power cable. I just added one to my Denon player and noticed immediately that on 2-channel playback, the highs had smoothed out (not harsh anymore). Unfortunately, the power cables are built-in on my pre and pro amps so I can't replace those without a DIY job and I'm not into that.

I'm tempted to buy the one that Treitz has for sale and swap out the cheap power cord I'm currently using on my projector.

Which Oyaide connector are you planning on using? I have experience with a couple maybe I can help in choosing one depending on what you are after.

MKZ, do I understand correctly that you bought the digital reference power cable and are swapping out both of the connectors? Where did you get the P-029?

Be careful with the Oyaide hardware!! There are a lot of Chinese counterfeit hardware out there. I have heard of tales of fake hardware being bought on eBay and Audiogon. A lot of info out on the web.

Nice power cables can be had at audiogon via hcmaudio. Special audiogon only price. Audioquest AC15 H/W 2.3 meter for around $50-55 shipped. a little light for a heavy weight high powered amp, but for everything else, a deal indeed. Just bought one for my headphone amp power supply.

Sorry Doug, I made you confused.
I bought Signal Magic Digital Reference for processor and 2 Magic Power for Amp and Subwoofer. I bought P-029 off the eBay and it possibly turns out to be imitation. I bought Neotech from SonicCraft, hope it is legit. I was planned to DIY just to compare with Signal how it goes. I have no equipment to use with.

Thanks for the heads up Carl, it is very possible. I think I better go with Furutech. Do you know where I can get those? SonicCraft or VH Audio?

I thought about it but Signal seems to be better since it has lots of rave and reviews and 15AWG vs 12AWG IMO. The connectors alone cost more than $30.
