Hello

Was wondering if any you have Vertigo? My wife got a bad episode yesterday while driving to work, had to go pick her up on the highway.....She was just completely disorientated, couldn't open her eyes, it was pretty scary. She had gotten it one time before quite awhile ago.

Theres quite a bit of info on the web of course but was just seeing if anyone here had it or was able to treat it fairly well...

Thanks

They gave me Antivert when it happened to me once. Never has returned. Hope she is the same way.

I have been living with vertigo / BPPV for years. physical therapy did a far better job than any Rx from a Dr.

There are different types of exercises / treatments depending on which canal in the inner ear is causing the problem.

Here's a link to a page devoted to Vertigo, but you may not want to watch the animation.

Im not sure if it's vertigo but sometimes I get messed up when I am walking on a patterned or tiled floor and I have to catch my step like I am falling. It's like my brain sees a drop or a step down where there is none.

Have your wife see a physician--sometimes these symptoms can be "mini" strokes, and that's not something to play with. Seriously.

Agreed. This is certainly not a time for self-diagnosis.

I've had a total of 3 episodes, but it's been about 3 years since the last one. I went to a specialist, did some hearing tests. They did give me a series of drawings on how i should turn and twist my head to get the "whatever' out, of the ear canal. It is scary when it happens. makes me very naucious. I have to lie down, before I fall down.

    Hello again,

Thanks for all the input, she's doing fine now, was pretty much back to normal the next day. She did go to the doctor and this is what their diagnosis was:

    Hopefully it won't get worse.....

Does your wife carry a very large hammer, wear a giant nose ring or have horns?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

cool, as long as she got checked out by a Doc, because while it seemed like vertigo/inner ear balance issues was the culprit just from the description, Steve had a hell of a point
