Are we talking about the new Weber LSi cleaning method?
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

What about dry cleaning? I heard this keeps the drivers and electrical components from getting wet and going bad. :p

Pretty funny Darla. Your post was worth the chuckle. A great product that gets my Focal's looking brand new [they are black lacquer as well] is "Invisible Glass" from Stoner. Spray it onto a very soft towel or microfibre cloth and they will look as if you just took them out of the box for years to come.

    Greg,

You don't need any specialized cleaners. All you need is a rag/old t-shirt, and warm water from the faucet. Dip part of the cloth into the water and rub the speaker until the finger prints are removed, and then dry. Blamo, you're done!

If there is a lot of fingerprints I usually put a few drops of dish detergent in some warm water, seems to get rid of prints quick.

I usually just cover each speaker with a towel when I am not using them. Keeps the dust and fingerprints off.

I use a large camera lens cloth. It won't scratch a lens so I am sure it is good enough for the speakers.

Microfiber cloth and light water. No dusting sprays needed. You can if something happens like kids or dogs but thats about it.

I would say use wood cleaner (sparingly) only for the side panels. As others have mentioned, microfiber cloth or other soft cloth on all surfaces. Also, wipe dust off periodically; don't let it cake on. If you will be on vacation for a while, cover the speakers to avoid dust accumulation. Actually, just place the speakers in a class 1000 clean room and be done with it.

swiffer duster when there's just dust.

for fingerprints and general schmutz, microfiber is fine, if not a litle overkill. the old t shirt is fine too. I used pledge and it works fine, but I dont wipe it too often, relying on the swiffer to do most of the work

if the LSi's piss you off, THEN you go with the steel wool

Lint roller on the grills. Maybe a little warm water on a towel if there is something that needs to be rubbed out.

Seems something always needs to be rubbed out.

    microfiber cloth,

    If really dirty:

run the cloth under the faucet
    wring it out
    wipe off speaker
wipe off speaker again with a microfiber cloth that is still dry

done. (have not had to do more that yet....)
