Huzzing in the channel

I hooked up a new to me B&K avr 202 tonight. Everything worked fine until I turned it off (sleep mode). I then noticed a fairly audible humming/buzzing in front left channel that did not stop. When I powered it totally down, it stopped. When powered up, it stopped. I also noticed that all speaker outputs seem to have a little current on the sleep mode by tapping the positive speaker wire to the terminal and getting a little sound out of each speaker. However, only the front left has the humming. I moved some cords around, switched power outlets. Any useful thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

The only thing might be to flip the power cord but you said its new so i dont think you could do that. Ummmm... does it have a ground screw in the back so you can ground all of your equipment together if it does that would be something to try. i hope i have help a little not having any exp. with B&K products.
If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.

I think you'd better plan on calling B&K on Monday.

But you guys are my tech support! I've tried all the normal stuff. Found a posting on another forum about somebody having similar problem and B&K fixed it no charge...said it was a leaking capacitor.

But you said new. LOL We could ask you to open it up and look inside but I think that messes with the warranty. LOL

new to me....it's about 4+ yrs old....I just got it off v-gon...and I trust the seller that he did not have the issue.....in fact, when I first hooked it up and turned the main power on, then put it in sleep, I don't recall the hum. I think it started after I had played a movie through and put it back in sleep mode. Now, it hums in the front left whenever it is in sleep.

For what it's worth, there is also a good sized popping in the same channel when the unit turns off and on. I connected the speaker to all channels, and only the front left is producing this problem. Sounds like I will need to send it in. Any possibility that a wire on the output got loose in shipment?
