picked up pari of RT35i's.... still think they sound better than polks new line. Lucky to find CC employee willing to sell em .. :)

    35i's are very nice speakers. Picked up a pair when the price dropped. Even my 25i's are dam impressive.

    These are awesome speakers, although if I could take one thing back. I would of gotten the RT55i's for Mains, and the 35i's for surrounds, the 35i's do not produce a high sound level what so ever.

    IMO - My Klh's at the same volume on the receiver, produce 1/4 more sound pressure

    Time to get your learn on son. Heard of efficiency? Look it up, read about it, understand it (enter the term, or some such).

    Once you understand, then compare this specification on your KLH and Polk speakers, and tell us why one sounds louder than the other (at the same attenuation on your receiver).

    Polk RT35i - 125 wats max, 90 db, 50-26 hz, 8 ohms, 2-way

    KLH 900b - 140 wats, 89 db, 50-20 hz, 8 ohms, 3-way

    The only difference between the two is, the POLK sound 'real', and the KLH sound 'artificial'.

    So actually the Polks will play slightly louder (at the same attenuation). I remember the 900 having a forward midrange, and tinny highs, perhaps it really isn't louder, just different.

    I thought most modern KLH were in the 94-96db 1w/1m range.

    THe KLH has a very bright midrange, with a very HISSY bright tweeter that way overpowers everything and makes it very noticeable. The woofer on the other hand, is so hollow and faded back u cant really tell its there. But it has a louder sound to it

    So essentially what you are shooting for is quality over quantity?

    I don't have the RT35i's but I've had the RT7's and the similar B&W 601S2 and find that they will go loud enough to deafen if need be.

    Turn that **** down. You are going to go deaf AND blind at this rate.

    i like the rt-35i they are dam good speakers,and are even better with a good sub
    . rt-7 mains
    rt-20p surounds
    cs-400i front center
    cs-350 ls rear center
    2 energy take 5, efects
    2- psw-650 , subs
    1- 15" audiosource sub

    No they play loud enough for me, just not alone. I dont listen to 2 channel music, i prefer 5.1! I can add up, 2+2=5!! see there! LOL!
    The rt35i is a VERY flat sounding speaker alone, and when you ADD the surrounds and ADD the center, you get a nice bassy - trebley sound. Then when you ADD that nice M&K, it really sounds nice. But i am not too fond of their flatness of sound alone.

    Yes russ, i wear glass's...want a pic?????? it'll last longer! LOL!

    I dont like the sound of klipsch, their too bright for me. But i like their ability to play around 100 db. Thats perfect for me. I like loudness! But 5 speakers pumping -33.00 sound out everywhere, suits me fine. The rt35i speakers are some awesome speakers, and i wouldnt trade them for any other rt bookshelf speaker except the 55i or maybe even the 55. But other than that, it is awesome. But alone - it does not even play loud enough for anything. Most of the problems is my receiver. LOL! :lol: dang yammer! Cant wait till i upgrade to that 5 channel outlaw audio amp! LOL!
