Trying to decide on a sub. From reading/educating myself on this forum I have narrowed the field to 4.
Budget is at $600.
Room is 16.5'W x 25'D x 7.5'H. No windows.
Will be mainly used for movies, ps3 gaming and then music
Choices:
Outlaw LFM-1 Plus - 649
SVS P12-NSD - $599
HSU VTF-2 MK 3 - $499
Polk DSW 600 - $599
Appreciate your listening expertise, thx.

Wow. that would be tough. they are all worthy and capable subs. I like the Polk DSW Pro 600, not that I have it.. but I like that it comes with a remote so you can adjust it from your easy chair. and not even have to put down your cocktail. great idea with the remote.
as it is now. i have to get my butt out of the chair and adjust it manually. it's so last century.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Once you get it calibrated, you don't need to adjust your sub levels . They are all nice, but the PB12 has been improved. In some ways, it's better than the Plus per Illka's testing. Among those subs that would be my choice. If you can handle a wait, then I'd be considering the Epik Knight or Valor vs. the MFW 15 though.

I'd choose any Epik sub or Onix MFW-15 over all of those listed.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
I like my HSU and would recommend it. Can't go wrong with any of these.

glad i asked, knowledge is power. Now checking out AV123 MFW-15, thx fellas....

The only drawback for either is the wait. Epik's supply chain is down until mid April and I don't know what kind of backlog he has. AV123 is quoting July for any new MFW15 orders. Must be nice to be in demand.

works for me. just finished building walls/built in cabinets. just starting sound proof and wiring. could be good timing for june/july by the time i git er done. I guess i have a short list now: MFW15 and epik and these look like a coin toss. thx again, great info.

Now I dunno about not adjusting your sub , with my music I play with the sub all the time some audio is recorded differently and needs turned up or down especially when changing from older rock to newer rock bass levels are simply recorded better or my amplified in the newer music it would seem...... " He who dies with the most equipment wins Right ? Jammer -- for your room size, you'll need to get the biggest, baddest sub you can afford. That's why I recommend a 15" driver that the Epik and Onix subs have. I use a 15" VMPS sub in a 13' x 20' x 8' room and I could still use more bass for HT.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub
