Oh, YEAH!!
Been working on this for awhile now.
Fedex came through this afternoon, got it set up and spinning vinyl now. More thoughts later but this is one SWEET rig.
Big ups for hearingimpared, analong97, DAGLJAM6 and Stephan at Quest for Sound for helping this one come together.
Back to the music!!

Doesn't a wallet pretty much make that happen?CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Congrats! Shouldn't you be surfing the internet right now looking for upgrades?

Congrats Troy! You got the lowdown from the vinyl kings! Enjoy your new VPI:)Carl

I would order the outer clamp immediately if I had that table. I've even gone so far as to try and get an estimate to have one made custom for my platter. Luckily, you can order one pre-made.

Nice TT Troy. What cartridge are you running?
ScottI like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D -
Damn nice table. I see it has the JMW arm (sweet). I can't quite make out what cartridge you're using. Enjoy!
-
It's a Dynavector 20X, high output.
I have a tube phono stage and I need all the gain I can get out of the cartridge as I REALLY don't want to add another link in the chain (ie step up transformer)
I'm about 95% ready to pull the trigger on the periphery clamp. I don't know that I'm REALLY ready to drop 1200 on a new platter though. One step at a time.

Congrats! Looks sweet.
I have the 20X(h) cart and love it.
Enjoy. -
Nice. Looks like the format war is over for you:D

I snapped these this morning...again, I know the quad rig is a mess. Don't bust my onions about it.

I love the CRS+ stands!!!
Groovy center channel, what is it, an old Frazier? Seriously, I've got some decent amp stands I can put you down for, for a small fee of course.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -
I love this pic! It shows that you have your priorities straight. New turntable is probably worth at least 10 times what the old school projection TV is worth.:D
Congrats on the new toy! It's a beauty.HT

Nice. When did you get the Silvers?
-
The Silvers came into the house about 3 weeks ago......
TV sucks, why spend money on it?
The center is a Dynaco A-25.....for now, I did the surround thing for Wendi. Before I invest in a center Ima see what stays and what goes. I'm back and forth on the Carvers and the SDA's
Amp stands, send that shiite on, put it on my bill and I'll square up with you.
Ted, I'm down w/that. I fly to St Louis at oh-dark-thirty on Monday but other than that, come on up.

Looks nice.....for a TTPolitical Correctness'.........defined

Nice addition to the system.
Might I suggest that the next TT purchase be a solid stand to place the TT on. If you have a solid wood end table, try placing it on there but use footers under the plinth feet as they will mark the table top.
I found the Scout to perform better on a solid wood end table. It also has a bottom shelf I store LPs on which mass loads it. I also installed spikes on the legs for leveling and isolation. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed, second it is violently opposed and third, it is accepted as self evident. -
Damn, threads like this get the vinyl bug going again.
I went down and listened to a good tube setup with Dynaudio
speakers and a good jazz record at a audio shop in Kansas City today.
Pure heaven!
Makes me want to go home and chuck all that other crap
out and go all analog."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson
