Best Sniper game?

I was a devoted Ghost recon player on the PC many years ago, and even played in a clan online, until people started using the evil eye cheat...

I gave away the games and pretty much abandoned PC gaming... I think I got a real job and became too busy to stay up till 6 am playing clan wars.

anyway...

I really loved the huge maps and being a sniper...

is there anything currently out there that blows it away from a sniper standpoint or even very tactical type game, aside from the DOOM type run and gun games.

    You might want to check out the latest Ghost Recon games. The futuristic ones are pretty fun.

    COD4 is quite fun to snipe in. also, i played a demo of a game called "Frontlines: Fuel of War" and the maps were enormous which was pretty dang fun for sniper.

    Ghost Recon RULED!!! That was the only game that I never got tired of- played it till there was data missing. Next best game was Far Cry. Just got tired of drowning on the freighter!:mad:

    TTOMP, The evil eye cheat was a way of seeing where everyone was on the screen when playing online against other people, You could see their name and you could just shoot below it and kill people at a distance even without seeing them, plus you couldnt hide anywhere because the name showed up everywhere..

    I used to rock at that game online, i was the leader of my clan. I left for a few months and then came back and i was getting killed left and right, and this one guy always had 30 kills, and everyone else had none. so we began to observe him and could see what he was doing, so we download the cheat for ourselves and observed him and it was so obvious he had the cheat going... so I stopped playing, because everyone online had it going. was a shame, I loved that game. Thanks for the suggestion slocookn I'll check that game out

    I enjoy sniping in Chromehounds. It's dirty and I like it.

    thats the same reason i stopped playing counter-strike. by far was my favorite online shooter back in the day. i completely rocked at it too. then people stated hacking and it ruins the fun. you can no longer trust peope and actually think someone is good. you just think theyre cheating. hacking is way too easy on PC which is why i stopped playing online shooters on PC. also, i was legit good and everyone thought i cheated. its like a slap in the face with a cold fish
