Best sub for me

Room is 14x 13.3, open 72'' arch to dining room

Listen to all type of music, but also movies listening. 30-70 respectively. Jack johnson, norah jones, Rage against the machine, briand Adams, little jazz too.

Will put the sub in another room next year 13x21. the sub must be good under 25hz.

The sub will match the Polk RTI A7 or LSI 15.(still not sure wich one I want)

My choices are from SVS 10'', polk dsw pro 600, Monster THX sl200, velodyne dps-12 or velodyne dls-5000.

No such thing as sub matching. You just need one that extends beyond where your speakers left off.

Hsu, SVS, Velodyne, and Polk's are the ones to consider.
Lovin that music year after year.

    Main 2 Channel System

    Polk SDA-1B,
    Promitheus Audio TVC SE,
    Rotel RB-980BX,
    OPPO DV-970HD,
    Lite Audio DAC AH,
    IXOS XHA305 Interconnects

    Computer Rig

    Polk SDA CRS+,
    Creek Audio 5350 SE,
    Morrow Audio MA1 Interconnect,

I'd put the PB10 and the STF2 at the top of the list, then perhaps the Polk or Velo. If you can move up to the VTF2.3, you'll be happier. Also, not sure when it's due, but AV123 is coming out with the Xplosive @ $400. They seem pretty confident that it will own that price point for looks and performance (another Seaton design).

edit. Sorry, I see you were asking about the VTF2.3...of your list, that's slightly the better performer.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

You'll seriously need to consider the Velodyne SMS-1 to get the most of them.

As for the poll, SVS, my 2nd choice would be Epik but they are not listed.

still dont know what I want.. I can have all these sub at around the same price

I only listened to the Velo dps-10 and dps-12. I find they fill the room with a good bass, but they can be sometime boomy.

svs and HSU are internet based, I'm not sure about them. You cannot only rely on the review and user comments. I need to ear it !

I know polk sub are very musical, but some models dont go very low, that's why I'm looking at the dsw600. I dont know when the new dsw2000 will be ready.

My main concern is that the sub should be fast enought to give nice low detail resolution and sound airy enough to ear the bass drum kick air . I want a flat response not boomy 60-80hz bump. I prefer an accurate fast and toneful sub to a lower hz monster.

    yep, 3 stacked up

the 600s are robustly built - plays fast, loud and low...i like them :D

i want to move the air molecules in the room evenly

    Thats a waste...

It would sound 400 times better if you tied in a sub to each main and put one in the center for the LFE

Alot less possible nulls and itd rattle your brains.

The easiest way to do it since you are running a seperate amp and I doubt you have a second set of main outputs is run speaker cable into the subwoofer, out of the subwoofer to the mains --- this will also cross over your mains and make them full range...

Then run a LFE cable to the other sub...

My ideal setup would be to have a sub to every speaker and two LFE subs, for theater that is.

    nice !

Do you know if powerful subwoofer is ok for a new buit house ? I mean the contractor said that we need a maximum 300 cfm oven fan in this new hightly isolated house to not cause negative pressure inside..

I think the sub itself can cause lots of air pressure no?

    ^^LOL^^

In conversation about buying a new car in cash, and saving money by not paying interest, this co-worker said that was a bad idea because the car would depreciate.

    Lol

    Not serious
but then I think of my friend's house with shaking walls with its 3 subwoofers... more wall ratling sound than sub output... I dont want that

The car thing is real, you can save from financing low interest because of the car depreciation and guying it after lease.

I dont know Slowcar, I dig the 3 subs stacked. However I think dual SVS PB12s could take em, surely dual PB12/PLus2s. If youre wanting sick bass, dual Epik Conquest or SVS PB13 Ultras.
