Broken PSW10?

I recently picked up the Polk Audio RM10FS 5.1 audio system which consists of a set RM10 satellite speakers and a PSW10 powered subwoofer. Everything worked great till today... While I was listening to some music, I brushed some dust of the top of the sub, when I did, it cut out, completely... I tried turning it off, and back on, unplugged it, turned of the source, and the receiver, but nothing... a few minutes later it started to buzz, and now it buzzes all the time, as long as it plugged in, no matter if it is turned on or off... I figure it must be totally screwed, anyone got any ideas?

    Hello,
What happens if you remove the sub-cable that comes into the sub?

When I remove the sub-cable, theres no change... no matter what I do, flick the power and phase switches, turn up and down the volume and low pass knobs, it just keeps buzzing along... as long as the power cord is plugged in, it buzzes, pretty loud, and thats the only sound it'll make...

I'm having the same exact problem, except mine started this mid TV show with nothing changed. To give you an idea how loud it is, I can see the speaker physically moving. Mine also buzzes with no audio source connected and no settings will change it or how loud it is. The bizarre thing is it will do this for 30 mins or so and gradually get louder and louder then it makes a thump and is ok for a while. Is there anything I can do or does it need replaced?

    Hello ats1080,
Welcome to Club Polk. In all likelihood there is a problem with the unit's bass amplifier, probably the volume potentiometer. Give Polk's CS department a call at 1-800-377-7655 on Wednesday or send them an email to polkcs@polkaudio.com. If you live in the US they will ask you to remove the bass amp and send it to their service department. If you live elsewhere they can help get service. Sorry there's a problem, but they will definitely be able to help.
    Regards, Ken
