With the downfall of HD-DVD, do you think Sony might start going after HD Broadcasts and try to push for Blu-Ray Broadcasting?

Sorry, I just had to be a dick and post this. Muahahahahaha! :D

That will beat blu ray ultimately. Soon as they have the kinks ironed out with increased storage capacity via the ability to attached USB hard drives.....that thing will kick blu ray ****.

Ok you say broadcasting so I assume what you receive if you have an over the air OTA antenna and receiving local HD signals. These signals are currently Mpeg2 in 1080i or 720p, DirecTV is sending the old HD signals in this format Mpeg2. They have like 50 HD signals in a newer format which is a high compression format of Mpeg4 think more HD in a smaller space not necessary better just more of it. I would think broadcasting format wouldn't change, but why not everything else has and screwed customers. HDMI 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.x Mpeg2 Mpeg4 MpegX whatever you buy today is old tomorrow and will not work with anything else.

    Nice world we live in.

OK, so how much does it cost? Unless I missed it, the website gives a price for the unit, but didn't give any monthly fees, price per movie, etc. Is it cost-effective?
