MiDock 10 with NiMH?

I recently purchased MiDock 10 speakers and was hoping to use rechargeable batteries with it. It works fine with Alkaline and with the AC adapter but not with the NiMH C Cells that I have. Is the MiDock 10 compatible with rechargeable batteries?
