Binding Post Question

I'm hooking mine up for the first time and will be getting a new receiver. What is the speaker chassis (assume it's the whole assembly that includes the gold plated connectors themselves)? Is it ok to run the wire all the way through the hole and have it touch the other side or do you have to be careful not to let any wire go beyond that hole? I read on another forum you can damage the receiver by letting a wire touch the chassis or the other post but want to make sure I understand it correctly.
Also, would it damage the speakers or just the receiver?

just stick the bare end of the wire a half inch or so, into the hole and screw the binding post down onto it.
you just do not want the bare wire to touch the other post, or do not let the wire going into the black post touch the red post and vice/versa. Its really simple dont over think it.

ok so the issue is with touching the other posts not the back of the speaker itself. Either way I'll follow the procedures you mentioned. It's simple I agree, I've only ever owned ones with the cheap clips or Bose so first experience with these nice binding post. Learned something new about speakers in general too.TV Samsung 61" 1080P DLP LED
