There's no right or wrong tweeter. It's all a matter of personal taste.

The analogy that newer must be better is not always true. If it were, we would all be listening to lsi's instead of the vintage polks.

I'm recommending $12 worth of caps that I've been using on my sl2000's for over a year instead of over $200 for new tweeters that he has no idea what they will sound like or if he will like them. I know what I would do if I was in his position.

Show us a link to something that says putting caps in series right at the tweeter when they already HAVE crossovers. All you are doing is changing the crossover point and wreaking havoc on the values of the stock crossover. There is no scientific method to what you're doing. I called a few buddies in the last few days asking about this and they first reaction was, "they added what where???" Two of these "buddies" are from PSB and Sunfire.

For the sake of credibility, show us ALL where it says you can simply add a cap inline at the tweeter and what those results are supposed to yield.

by the way, can you tell if my tweeter is an SL2000 by just showing a picture? I know for sure that it is not an SL3000 because the text is horizontal and it says Silver Dome Coil. How does the RD0 look like? Anyone please with a picture?

    Here you go.

Wow, that's quite a stretch going from a tweeter to an entirely different speaker. Got to be one of the worst analogies I've read.

Scrap oak, power tools, black spray paint and clear poly. Quite simple actually.
I did not like the way the original bases looked. YMMV.

I did not make the initial recommendation and can't find the post but I tried it and it works. I'm glad that you are researching the science behind it because that needs to be done also. I've done the testing and experienced the end result. I don't have a problem with spending $3 to see if something works. That's a no brainer.

You work with electronics so it's important for you to understand the why and how. All I care about is the end result.

If it's ok, can you take a closer pic so I will have an idea how you mounted them? Also, different angles of pictures please :p

    Thanks again. ;)

From what I understand you bought RD0 and you were not happy with it. If it's still with you, can I purchase the pair like $70. Please pm me.

I just sold them locally for $60 but told them they could bring them back if they don't like them. I kind of like having a pair around to do side by side comparisons with but the guy wanted to try them out so I sold them rather than having them lay around collecting dust.

I Just ordered 8 tweeters upgrade from polk for my 1.2'S Eric told me it was the upgrade for the SL2000 he said they are much better than the old SL2000. Well I like my highs or bright sounding speakers with Real good bass. But I must say the The E-mit tweeter probably would blow them(sl2000,sl3000) out of the water but the E-mit isn't a Polk speaker(tweeter)
