I have a pair of 3.1 tls that I bought new in 91' +/-. I also have a pair of 1.2's which I acquired from club member Polk SDA. I have enjoyed the 3.1's immensely over the years and have never found myself wanting to sell / trade up????? I was listening to music on them last night for awhile and I still love their sound. The 1.2's are not necessarily a better sounding speaker (to my ears)they're just a bigger version that lets us crank a little more and make bigger sound. Overall I would choose the 1.2's over the 3.1's for my home theater because, damn they sound great and when I use them for music they fill the room. Musically I really don't see too much of a difference especially if the room sizes are on the smaller side. Since we don't see these too often I just thought I'd throw in some of my observations. Incidentally my 1.2's have not been upgraded but will be soon. I am enjoying them so much as they are I am reluctant to mess with them but since I am aware of the upside we'll git er' done soon.
I have no affiliation with the sale of the 3.1tl's but if they were close by I would buy them, I like them that much.

Again, the kingdom of stereo is like a rocker looking for fine speakers. When he found some of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought them.

Just another reason for me not to shop at Wal-Mart!!!! I can't tell you the last time I was in one.

Wal-Mart sucks, and very slow at getting people out the door.
