Problem with SDA-1C

So those would be the two choices to put in my SDAs? Or is there another one?
-
Those are my tweeters upgraded with caps.
Polk only offers the RD0194 for your speaker.
I have not heard the RD0198 which was designed to replace the sl3000. It will fit in your speaker but was not designed to.
You currently have the sl2000 in your 1c's. -

Why? Because such an attitude stifles your innovative and creative capabilities and your competitor will come along and try something that's never been tried before and run you out of business.
I'll bet Matt and Bob would be some pretty depressed guys if they didn't let their mind wander into new and uncharted waters. This isn't that different and just because you've never heard of it or tried it, you are discounting it without even trying it.
When I hear of something new to try and it's not dangerous or expensive, I can't wait to try it.
I'm sorry, all I hear is .............blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

For $12, it's worth trying the caps. They can't harm your speakers in any way. The techs haven't figured out how or why they work but I've been using them for over a year with great results.
Tell me what techs do you speak of ?????
Two of my friends laughed so hard they almost peed their pants when they read the above post:D
They ARE real audio techs with over 60 years experince building high end speakers and HT set-ups....and their advice " follow the advice of true Polk techs and not a poster with a tin ear:D -
Thanks for the chuckle.
"We ARE real audio techs with over 60 years experince building high end speakers and HT set-ups.". So don't ever try anything we've never tried or heard of before.
You know how ridiculous that sounds.
Can you ask them about wires and cables too. -
God you're an idiot. You thrive on this, don't you? You have no clue as to what you're doing to the speakers. It just "happens to work".
I'm going to see if I can give him the crossover specs of what's in your speakers and run a graph on what the cap is doing to the response and phase shift of the speakers.
Wait. That won't matter as you don't care and you wouldn't understand it . Never mind.Richard? Who's your favorite Little Rascal? Alfalfa? Or is it........................Spanky?.................................Sinner. -

AV it seems the Texas sun has burnt a large hole in this fools head.....kinda of funny to see the stupidity of some especially the ones with holes in their head......this fool wouldnt know a cap from a cap gun...hey maybe he put a roll of caps meant for the gun on the tweets and got a bang for his buck
He has entertained a few friends who I have sent this post too....but then again what does a garbageman know bout speakers;)
the fact that he blindly replies without a clue says it all:D
then again he could be one of them knowitall illegals.......texas has lots of em -
So the debate continues until someone else tries it.

I'm sure Matthew is looking over his SDA notes and thinking, "damn, that's where that other friggin' cap goes!"Richard? Who's your favorite Little Rascal? Alfalfa? Or is it........................Spanky?.................................Sinner.

LOL
hell they are more probaly writing up a job offer now for the Houston blah blah man:D -
The cap in series with the tweeter like that will b a 6db roll off at higher frequencies. I can't hear much past 12k. Maybe candy can't either? If he likes it cool, but I also think it is bad advise. It throws the phase out of whack, and flattens the top. Candy if you keep your mod, and I am guessing you will. I would try reversing the polarity on the tweeter with the cap. Just a simple suggestion.
BenPlease. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Mystery solved then. What advantage does reversing the polarity have?
Your analysis describes what I'm hearing (i.e. not hearing) with the caps to a t. -

SpeedyFE... No; there's no such thing as SL2000wc or SL3000wc. This is just one person that puts capacitors to their tweeters (and who knows why he's flooding the forum with this idea).
Of course you can try it if you have nothing to do._________________________________________________
