Are the individual component cables (red, blue, green) different in design than standard "Yellow" Video Cables. I am in need of some "yellow" video cables, and was going to separate a component cable to make three standard video cables. Any info on the topic is appreciated.

They should be identical. I have used component cables in a pinch as composite video, stereo audio, and digital coax.

What are you intending on using them for?

They are exaclty the same build. 75 ohm video coax cables. Mostly rg59 r 8 or rg6 build.

I would like to use them for cable box, and dvd-recorder to tv connections. nothing ultra hi-fi.

Thanks for the responses. I was hoping they would be interchangeable, but was curious if there was any real differences in the cable. I appreciate your responses and help clearing that up.
