February 7, 2008 -- SCARLETT Johansson (below) has a steamy **** sex scene with Penelope Cruz in Woody Allen's upcoming "Vicky Cristina Barcelona." A source tells us: "It is also extremely erotic. People will be blown away and even shocked. Penelope and Scarlett go at it in a red-tinted photography dark room, and it will leave the audience gasping." The women later have a threesome with Javier Bardem (below), who plays Cruz's husband. The film also stars Patricia Clarkson, Rebecca Hall, Kevin Dunn and Chris Messina.

Ummm, yeah, I'm gonna need to see this movie. Here's hoping for an NC-17 rating.

This curiously brings to mind the outrage among some forum members over the subject matter and sex scene in "Brokeback Mountain".

Now, there seems to be eager anticipation about seeing two females "going at it". I never have understood the moral outrage that some hetero males have over M/M **** sex, but if it is two attractive females, then it is ok.

I am neither titillated by or repulsed by **** sex whether is it M/M or F/F. To each his own. It just seems kind of "off" for people to want to burn Ang Lee at the stake, on moral grounds, for making a movie depicting a M/M relationship, then turn around and applaud another movie with similar content because it depicts a F/F relationship.

    Then:

This thread does not have to self destruct. I see no reason why there can't be a civil discussion on why the depiction of M/M relationships is taboo and reprehensible but the depiction of F/F relationships is a special treat. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has wondered about this seeming discontinuity.

Some might argue that hetero males find F/F sex titillating because it is two females involved in sexual activity. Yeah, maybe so. If I find a particular activity reprehensible, it is not more tolerable, or even appealing, if physically and sexually attractive people are doing it. I wouldn't find a depiction of intravenous drug use among three people appealing. I would not find it appealing even if the people using the drugs were three absolutely gorgeous females.

    I was not being facetious when I said I don't understand. I really don't.

It doesn't have to, but I am sure it will. Someone will call so and so a fundamentalist then they'll respond and tell that person to go eff themselves, it'll get locked. The someone will start a new thread about it, claim "innocence" and tell people they're not supposed to argue despite the controversial subject matter. That one will get locked and then we'll have 10 threads about how PC this place is now started by the people who started all the crap to begin with. :)

Thank you Ron for pointing out the complete hypocrisy between this thread & BBM!

Right is right & wrong is wrong you can't have it both ways. Unfortunately that's what most men do when it comes to things like this, as you so wonderfully pointed out with just one poster's double standard statements. But as you can see he has plenty of company.

    Thank you!
