Soundpros.com has this one for about $420, you can get it on inertnet for less than $400. If you are serious about getting one, you may want to consider the better 47ai

    NDTA or anybody that knows.

What is the big difference in the 45A and the 47Ai?

I am in the market for a combo player and the Pioneers are on my list. is the 47Ai worth the extra 300.00?

Seems the 47Ai has better construction for better isolation, the video sample rate is 108Mhz, not 54Mhz, and it has a detachable power cord. These were the things I noticed that were different.

I always wonder if I will notice these things, or if it is worth the extra cash.

Simple....the dv47a is reference and the dv45a is not.dv47a has better video quality.Better build quality the detach power cord does come in handy.I could go on and on.......

Ask yourself this................DO I want a really great player or a water down version of?Can I afford the extra bucks?

Dude listen they are both very fine dvd players.you can't go wrong with them. They are in my opnion the best of there price points. If money is a concern the go dv45a..It's nice I saw it go a couple of times now...the dv47a smokes it.

I see reference used quite a bit... What is the difference between the 45 and 47 that can help me understand reference?

Was at a local audio show and talked to a Pioneer rep. The main difference is that the 45 uses a single chip to decode the various formats. The 47 has discrete chips for converting the formats.

I bought the 45 for now as I could not pass on the price.

I think 'reference' or 'reference quality' is a highly subjective term.

I hear great things about both of them. I hear that the 45 only supports bass management for SACD, and has no bass management for DVD-A. I'm not sure if the 47 has this or not.

What is the difference between the 47A and the 47Ai? Besides the special link that you can connect it directly to a pioneer elite reciever. Does anyone know? I can buy a 47A from a friend of a friend but all I can find info for is the 47Ai.

    Thanks
