LSi15 - CNBC Audio Messed Up

I just got my left channel LSi15 today (right channel is on it's way). They are replacing a pair of RT600's. Of course I couldn't wait for the right, so I hooked up the left. I played a DVD, sounded great. I switched to one of the Comcast music channels, sounded great. A few other channels, great. Then I switched to CNBC and the audio is all messed up through the LSi15. I tried over 50 channels and CNBC is the only one that does this. The LSi15 just sounds muffled, washed out, and full of static. The RT600 works fine on CNBC and so does my center (it's also RT series). My receiver is a Yamaha HTR-5250. I tried turning off Pro Logic, but that didn't help. I disconnected the RT600 so the LSi15 is the only thing front speaker.

I'm guessing the LSi15 is working correctly, so how is it possible that the RT600 and center speaker work okay on CNBC (this is Comcast in Palm Beach Florida), but not the LSi15?

Thanks,

Gregg

It sure doesn't sound like a speaker issue so I have no idea how it would sound perfect on one speaker and not another. Very odd indeed.

Maybe your LSI15 is telling you not to invest into the market right now :)

I watch CNBC constantly which is what has me concerned. Why couldn't this problem be on Home and Garden instead? :)

I'll be curious to see if this problem happens when I get the right channel.

Just for a goof, why don't you hook up the LSi15 to the right channel and see what happens? Even though the speakers are marked L/R it isn't really mandatory they go there... I actually have mine swapped because I feel the bass response is better that way in my room. I'm not sure it'll make a difference though, unless CNBC is having a problem right now and outputting bad data on the Left channel... Good luck.

That did it! It works fine on the right channel and the RT600 does the same thing on the left channel. So I guess their left channel is bad, just like many of the stock recommendations they make
