I’ve just bought a pair of RTi8 and a Velodyne subwoofer, using with a pair of a different brand speakers for rear. No center channel yet. Right now I’m using an old old Marantz (lot of power, lacks options). I’m in the market for a new receiver - I’m very actively looking at Marantz SR4002. Is anyone using this receiver, how is the sound quality? Is it a good match with RTi8? I’ll mostly use it for music, not movie. Does it have custom setting equalizer, bass treble, etc? How user friendly it is? My second choice is Yamaha HTR6060, how is this one?
EDIT: I'm from Canada and here we don't any Marantz showroom where we can have enough time to check a receiver.

Marantz makes nice equipment. If you are in the market for the older version with the same basic unit, accessories4less.com has the SR4001 for $349 new, which is a couple hundred off the list, plus a free cable. You might also check out Marantz's website at www.marantz.com. good luck[

I own a Marantz SR8001 and SR5001. IMO these are excellent pieces of equipment that are pretty easy to use. The reality is that most of these things are easy to use once you have a bit of experience with it and understand the mentality. I can speak for certain about Marantz customer service. If you have a question you can call and they will respond, even on the weekend.
The Yamaha you mention is not bad but in all not near the unit of the Marantz. My Main Gear

First,
Welcome to Club Polk !
The 4002 is a great AVR. I had some experience with its two-generations-back predecessor, the SR 4600, which is roughly the same AVR ,only without the HDMI connections.
Its sound quality is very good for an AVR.
a few years back, Deutsche Grammophon had a small-integrated-stereo amps shoot out, and the 4200 (or 4300, both share most of the 4002 amplification genes) won over all the pure stereo amps in its price level. nice. Deutsche Grammophon wrote it was the first time it happened.
one thing though, IMHO, you might want to consider checking the 500X or even 600X series.
it'll really make the RTis shine."If the global crisis continues, by the end of the year Only two Banks will be operational, the Blood Bank and the Sperm Bank. Then these 2 banks will merge and it will be called 'The Bloody **** Bank'"
