I'm not sure how others use Paypal but I transfer money in and out of an account, not using a credit card. Paypal requires a credit card on the account as a form of overdraft, I guess. Not to mention Paypal can pull money directly out of your linked account and you are left at their mercy.

In a chargeback situation, even if you pull the funds out of your primary account, Paypal can still go back and "chargeback" your credit card on file.

I don't know where you got these ideas. The only safe way to use Pay-Pal is with a credit card. That way if Pay-Pal screws you over, your CC company will get your funds back.

They can not put a charge on your CC without your authorization, even in a charge back situation, it's illegal.
