Brand New in Box Belkin PF60 - SILVER

All,

I have a brand new Belkin PF60 I am selling for $194 plus actual shipping.

This is basically the Fry's price mentioned in another thread but with the rebate applied already. See this thread:

http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62792

That way you can buy this from me, plus shipping, and not have to worry about a rebate or Ebay, etc.

Reply or PM me.

It's brand new in the box ready to go.

I bought a black one instead so I am selling this silver one.

Thanks

Tim

    Here is a picture.

    The unit is brand new.

LCD display is flawless, I took this with my Iphone so it is not showing the LCD as it should.

If you want more pics, let me know.

    Thanks

    Tim

P.S. The protective plastic is still on the front of the unit

It's sitting unused in the box in my spare bedroom.

Please let me know if you want to buy it.

With the money saved you could paint it any color you want!

    Thanks!

For the record this was sold.

Before any nonsense gets posted here I'm going to post that the item was paid for and was shipped by me on 3/20 and received by the buyer on 3/28

Unit was double boxed and professionally packed by Fedex Kinko's.

Person who purchased it emails me and immediately tells me it's a heavily used unit, is dusty and top has flaws like screws missing and feet off the bottom. I don't know how that is possible when the feet are securely affixed to the bottom of the PF60.

I immediately reply and tell the buyer that I will refund his money and to ship the unit back to me.

This unit was never used. I bought it brand new and have the receipt to prove it. The plastic was still on the front of the unit.

Since I am a stand up seller, my offer to refund the money to the buyer still stands, and I am posting that publicly.

I have not heard back from the buyer after my offer to refund the money after almost a week.

If I don't hear a reply back on my offer in the next couple of days I will consider this matter closed.

Better keep an eye on your paypal account for a chargeback.

Everyone wonders why I explicitly say in all my adds I will not deal with buyers with no verifiable feedback. XJR's story is exactly why, it has happened to me a few times. Hope you don't get a charge back, I had a very similar situation and paypal sided with the buyer.

Can someone tell me how a chargeback works in Paypal? What's the process, is there a statute of limitations from when the payment was completed?

Is accepting MO's (postal MO) from buyers with no feedback a better method?

In basic terms, they complain to paypal that the item was not received or not as described, file a complaint with paypal. Paypal contacts you, asks you to prove it was in said condition, and even after you prove it was in said condition they give the money back to the buyer and deduct it from your account(sometimes making you negative).

The real kicker is I have heard of situations where Paypal issues a chargeback AND the seller never gets the equipment returned. So the buyer gets their money back and keeps the equipment. It is a completely shistey way of doing things.

Money orders are as good as cash. Receive the money order first and deposit. After funds are in your account, send the item. I recommend taking pictures of the unit before packing it up, during the packing process and completely boxed up. That way you have visual records of what the condition is and that it was adequately secured for shipping.

Had this happen to me also, it really sucks. I try to get most of my things sold locally, it may take a little longer but it is well worth it. I would never do business with someone with no feedback anywhere, beware.

Just like cash they can be fake. My brother received a bad MO once, he deposited it and the amount hit his account in 2 days. He sent the item, then 2 weeks later the MO turned out to be a fake and the amount was deducted from his account.

Best thing to do is only accept USPS MOs and cash them at a post office. There are many ways to tell of it is a fake, but they will know for sure and give you cash right then and there.

It is sad that if everyone has to figure out schemes to protect oneself. If we get to the point that people got burned dealing in FM (not scambay, or any other sites, which are really something that you do it at your own risks), then we should treat it no different than those sites. Until then, I will rely on the rating system here, reputation, obvious telltale smell of the seller/buyers, and trust the process. I've done enough transactions in the past 5 years here, and everyone of those transactions were great. Great people, integrity and honest. Sometimes beyond what I expected. If I started to loose my trust to deal with anyone here, then I will take my business elsewhere. Until then, I will let Russ, Mark, Shack, and others to sniff out troublemakers. Period.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

    All,

I am not going to mention who it is unless they decide to stir up problems or chargeback Paypal.

I NEVER EVER ship ANYTHING until the money is sent to Paypal, I initiate a withdrawal, and the money it deposited into my bank account.

So, if someone charges back, they aren't getting anything out of me.

If Paypal even thinks about making an unauthorized withdrawal from ANY account I own after the fact they are looking for trouble.

I suggest to ANY seller they wait until the funds hit their real bank account, AFTER withdrawing from Paypal.

I am just posting all this as a precautionary measure in case the buyer decides to come over here and spew crap about how I ripped them off or something like that.

I have the tracking info, proof of delivery, email from them saying they received it, etc.

    Thanks for the replies.

As easy as Paypal is to use, it can be a total pain in the arse.

I'm not sure how others use Paypal but I transfer money in and out of an account, not using a credit card. Paypal requires a credit card on the account as a form of overdraft, I guess. Not to mention Paypal can pull money directly out of your linked account and you are left at their mercy.

In a chargeback situation, even if you pull the funds out of your primary account, Paypal can still go back and "chargeback" your credit card on file.

I've had 2 situations with Paypal which still piss me off to this day. 1 as the seller and 1 as the buyer. I ended up sending the item back as the buyer, and finally getting my money back, 60+ days later. Guy shipped me a different unit than what the auction stated, POS.

As the seller, I was in a similar situation as Tim. I sold a near mint DVD player and the guy claimed it was damaged a month later and called his credit card company. It may have been damaged in transit, I highly doubt it, but it was flawless when it left my hands and why wait a month to file a complaint? Insurance isn't going to accept a month old claim. Long story short, I was charged back for the unit and the guy never sent the DVD player back but told Paypal he did.

    Good luck Tim.

Here is a good link to read about the "joys" of paypal.

Ok, well I haven't heard from my buyer after offering a full refund.

The person has my email address and my cell phone so I am reachable regardless.

I'm closing this deal as successful as there has been more than enough time to contact me or ship it back to me for a refund.

    Thanks for the positive comments.
