I will keep this in mind...

I think after the brief comments here, that a Parasound amp would actually be exactly what I'm looking for, but I don't know if I want to drop over 1K yet... I'll hook up with you via PM mwaarna, when the time gets closer!

Beard - thanks for the clear description on the Parasounds and the RTi's! That was extremely helpful! Now I just need somebody to sell me their RTi10's or 12's!!! :D

Hey - I just got a Parasound HCA-800II last week. Have only had a very brief chance to listen to it, so don't have any firm opinions as of yet. It's only a 2-ch amp, but if you would like to test it out to see how you like Parasounds in general ... just let me know.

I have been shopping for 2-ch amps for a couple of months. I narrowed my search down to Adcom and Parasound because they seemed to offer the best bang for the buck on the used market. Once I get a chance to calibrate everything and do some real listening tests, we'll see if I was right. :)

Does anybody have any recommendations on this fella: Acurus 125X5

Should be a great amp, although I haven't heard one. The same company made the Aragon amps which are a big step up from the Parasounds and Adcoms.

I'm driving LSi15's with a 125WPC B&K amp, no problem there. Plenty of power and sounds great.

I went from an Adcom GFA555 mkII 2 channel (200@8ohm) to an Adcom 7500 (5 channel 150@8ohm). There was a noticeable change in sound. I lost some kick in the a$$. I expected that. I like the overall sound of the amp and I am happy with the compromise for now. I will most likely upgrade to another amp in the near future.

I have the Outlaw 7500w/ 200w per and my Rti 10, Csi5, and Rti 4 relly sound good. I tried a smaller amp (125w) and I can tell the difference.

Don't know if this is something to consider, but some amps are 19" wide and other are 17 1/4" wide. like the parasound in one of the threads. was 19" wide.

Another thing to consider and that is why I think you better of trying the amp before you buy it, is that I actually borrowed a rotel 1095 (200w*5 at 8ohm) and after pluging everything in, I did not notice any improvements for my particular setup. Granted I have a middle-of the line receiver, or perhaps, I was expecting to really see some differenrce but I didn't so I sent it back and I have not changed anything on my setup yet.
Again, I will highly advise you to try it before you buy it, especially for a HT setup.
