In the other thread, I mentioned that I scored this unit (which is still out of stock everywhere, for whatever reason).

With the multi-threads bashing and or biased AGAINST this multi-player, I've been telling myself that I am going to find its faults, in my system, for the past 2 weeks. Sounds silly, but I've been trying to find a reason to return it to CC.

Well, I am still trying to, but can't really find anything NOT-TO-LIKE about this units. I thrown in every single format, SDVD, BD, and HD-DVD, and it played every single one of them with no issue. Audio is very good for my needs, currently on DD/DTS via coax. On SDVD, the PQ is excellent, I supposed the hype about REON chips is warranted.

What to do? Be happy?

*ps: price is on the higher side, but for me it's worthed, to have one player that plays everything. Done with running a snake pits, no more.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Yep, be happy. I think problems get a little blown out of proportion--and alot of times user-caused. One problem I have notes on AVS forum is people running out and downloading the latest firmware---when their player was working just fine. Now they have some issues. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I have no evidence of it, nor facts to back it up, but I'm convinced that some of these discount warehouses that people buy audio/video from have flakey equipment. It's just not worth it to me. I noticed this with the early Samsung DLPs--it seemed like 95% of the people experiencing problems bought their TV from less than savory supplier; and people who purchased from authorized dealers, Sears, Best Buy, CC had much more success and far less problems. Maybe Murphy's law?

I could have saved over $100 on my new BR player, but with this technology being so new, issues still being ironed out, I wanted to buy locally in case I had a problem. Did the same with my DLP a year ago, I went to Sears and not only did they price-match, I got an additional percentage off for finding a lower price.

Be happy man. Who cares what "THEY" say. I perfer to have a all in one myself. I have been waiting for this player to hit our stores. I will run it and test the hell out of it. If it comes up a winner, it comes home with me.

I there with the clean it up factor. I'm so tired of all the wires man. I want HDMI in to receiver or preamp and out to Montior. I want no more then needed.

Thanks, Gents! Sometimes hang around AVS forum too much can be counter-productive. TMI!
