    What size were the Goodyears though? Your tire size may explain a lot of the difference as those are some quite large rubbers for Eclipse. I know the difference was huge when I went from 245/45/17 to 265/35/18.

    The Goodyear tires were 245/45/R18, basically the same size. Goodyear tires are junk, at least those that come with a new car from the factory.
    If...
    Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
    Ron loves a film = don't even rent.

    Not great tires, but now and then they get something right. My Jeep ZJ had been wearing the same Goodyears on the rear axle since 1995 until I upgraded everything to all-terrains this fall.
