    Sal,

Just got the DVD. Would like to thank you very much for spending your time and mailing the DVDs.

I have one question though. When you played the DVD on your system, all the tracks were audible. However, on my system, a few of the titles had no sound. Is the sound encoded in something that is not usual DD/DTS? I am trying to figure out why I have silence on a few of the tracks???

Well, to start with, track # 5. Right after the storm the sound goes silent.

Edit: Also I am experiencing the same problem on track # 15 and # 19.

Forgot to mention - The last three titles (the ones with bass) work fine, but the problem I am having is that the other tracks are either quiet or have no sound.

Just a quick check I found track 5 is DTS, but I haven't got to track 15 or 19 yet.

    Is DTS a problem?

His Onkyo 702 should do DTS just fine ? Is that still your active AVR ?

Some of the tracks have DTS and some just DD. Sounds like maybe the AVR is having trouble switching.

Also, on your DVD remote you should have an 'audio' button. If you don't hear sound, click that button and the DVD player will tell you what the soundtrack options are.

Sure, I did try that but there still was no sound.

Do you think it has anything to do with the fact that I have my HTPC connected to the receiver via multichannel? (i.e. the way you connect a SACD or DVD-A player for uncompressed multichannel sound)

If you can see the audio track choice on the DVD, then its probably a setup problem. Try an optical/coax out of your HTPC and see what happens.

X 2 ....hook up the digital connection if you are only using the multi-channel analog connections

I just did that right now, and it worked.

Now why can't I connect the HTPC to the receiver via multichannel analog? Isn't that the only way to get full, uncompressed audio out of the PC (like the way you would connect a Toshiba HD-XA1 to your AVR)??

And why doesn't it work through multichannel?
