PSW10 - Bad Amp?

Just got a new PSW10 - and I can't get it to work.
The power light turns green when plugged in.
When I turn the switch from off to auto or on the sub pops - but then I can't get anything else to come out of it.
I've tried the LFE from my receiver as well as a speaker level input - though I only tried one speaker terminal, would that make a difference?
Is there anything else I can try before I try to exchange it?
edit: forgot to add that my former sub works fine with the same LFE input - so the signal is being sent.

You want to make sure the receiver's sub-out function is turned on. Check in the receiver's owner's manual under "getting started" or "calibration" and see where it talks about programming the receiver's sub-out, on/off. This will set the receiver is send a signal to the sub-woofer.
You can test the sub by connecting the audio right and left audio output of a DVD player to the line level inputs on the sub. Turn the sub's volume down, remove the sub cable and use two cables to connect the DVD player to the sub. Then play a CD and turn up the volume on the sub, you should hear plenty of bass. If you don't then the sub's bad.

im having the same issue, did you resolve it or was the amp done?

This may sound crazy, but my Yamaha CR-1000 won't work w/ my PSW-10. Just as you describe, no sound out in either connect mode. No problem w/ the PSW-10 on my Sansui 4000 though. And the Yamaha works just fine w/ a sub driven by a Dayton plate amp. No one has been able to explain to me how this could happen.
So try another amp/receiver if you can.

I got the sub through a guy at work - he's going to try it out with his system and exchange it if it doesn't work.
If it does work - where does that leave me?
Is there something different about the RCA inputs on this sub versus another that would cause it not to work with certain receivers? -
No one has been able to explain why my PSW-10 fails to work w/ my Yamaha. And again--it fails w/ both RCA and speaker wire connections. Yet it's fine on my Sansui. All I can say is, if that's the case, you can pick up a vintage receiver and try it out.
